lol - webcomic I found while looking up things about Windows 7 here- and while all the reviews are glowing, it's also being compared to Apples newest OS, um Panther I think? Leopard? I can't remember. All I know is, I switched FROM Apple TO Microshaft just to get away from their new OS setup. I liked the old setups.

Anyway, if I can figure where things are on my mom's computer, I may end up converting anyway. It apparently speeds things up a lot by the virtue of being smaller and running tighter than other Windows.

I'd be joining you in ranting 'grumbles' money mongers. any ways. i like one part of Kingdom of Knuffel.. you get 'food points' their version of gold.. for doing polls. XD I've been going through their forums and doing as many as i run across its not much but their CLOTHS omg are so expensive.

I am leery about 7 now...right now I have vista though.....which in my opinion was a step down...from XP...

i LIKE XP. its stable, has very few bugs, and Doesn't give me much of a hassel XD.

XP is ok, despite it's funny name.... :XP

But I've never heard anything good about Vista. This 7 has a lot of good reviews, but I'm disappointed with the surprise OS switch. Now it's not really Windows, in my opinion.

I'm looking at the Windows site's 'how to' videos for 7, and it's not telling me anything I want to know, just showcasing 'features' I don't give a hoot about. Must research more.

ugh that does sound annoying....and yes...to put things bluntly....vista sucks.

@Star- I loved XP.....they put a chip in lappy's now that doesn't allow for them to be compatable with anything other then vista....-.-

I got my laptop in January... before that thankfully XD I have XP~ Vista sucks though >< It costs more to buy XP then Vista... that really made me mad :<

their trying to FORCE people to buy Vista? 'whimpers' that thing breaks half the time has so many PROBLEMS.. probably why their trying to force people to buy it.. so you have to take it in to get it fixed..

Yeah, it did seem like they were 'forcing' the whole Vista conversion thing, up until just recently. So many people just flat out hated it, I'm glad the new one seems better? But only if I can figure it out. :/

Ok, found what I was looking for. They hid it in plain sight - plain for the new system, anyway.


'My Computer' is no longer a desktop icon. You click on what used to be the Start Button that is now just a huge fluffy Windows Icon, and it opens a menu including at the top the word 'Computer'.

You can use it from there, or Right Click and move to desktop. OR you can right click the desktop and choose 'personalize' and then click checkboxes for things like My Computer and oh, the Recycle bin that you want back where they ought to be.

There, not so bad. From My Computer I can get to any folder I need and then make a shortcut as needed. Problem Solved.
