For some reason, I got really good at wrapping gifts last year.. And then I got REALLY REALLY horrible this year.

There was so much extra tape and the wrapping paper was all wrinkled and weird looking. I had to rewrap a couple of presents just to make them look decent. Eventually I just gave up and bagged some of them up to save myself the trouble.

D: I hope I get better at gift wrapping again.

Same. I waited till the last minute to wrap my gifts just to put off some of the torture gift wrapping brings to me. XD In fact, this morning I was still a bit pissed off and snapped at my grandma when she scolded me for dragging my coat. See, I woke up at an early time for me, unwrapped presents to me, and wrapped some (*cough* most) of the last presents from me. Then some of the wrapping paper on the presents, like my grandpa's, kind of collapsed. >.> And I had to carry my suitcase that probably weighed at least 20lbs up my grandma's sidewalk and stairs with my coat balancing on my arm, which no one offered to take. DX

I'm so horrible that now even my boyfriend's mother can recognize my handy work... although, once, i did it really nice and it looked really good and she still knew who did it. :( My mom though always knows it's me and so does my sister.

I always wrap perfectly.

My secret?

:3 I bag. everything.

Alexial_Rose 12-30-2009 02:54 AM

I can't really wrap anything either. But there is a cure for that... Gift bags with tissue papers. :)

Yukiii-chan 12-30-2009 03:41 AM

lol, i can't wrap presents that well either

katkitoshi 12-30-2009 03:43 AM

My wrapping skills are mediocre at best XD. I can manage to make it look decent, but to make it actually look like the typical Christmas gift box? That would take a bit more effort on my part lol. My mother on the other hand, wraps like a pro o_o.

Clarise 12-30-2009 03:56 AM

I am a horrible wrapper. I think it's just that I don't have enough patience for it. That, and I'm terrible with scissors. Cutting things well is just something that I cannot do. Again, I think it's related to patience.

I learned how to wrap presents from my mother, and both of us have/had OCD.

Needless to say, I'm actually very good at it. My main problem is, if I do mess up, I end up wasting paper because I can't force myself to keep trying with the same piece of wrapping paper. The creases from the failed attempt bug me so much that I have to completely start over. Thankfully that doesn't happen very often, so I don't waste TOO much wrapping paper.

One thing I'm really happy about is that most wrapping paper has those grids on the back of the design, so I don't end up cutting uneven lines. As long as I follow the grid marks, I'm able to have perfect squares. That really makes an obsessive compulsive person like me very happy. :D

I'm horrible at wrapping presents hahaha. But you know what? I have such a fun time wrapping them that it all makes up for it. I sometimes do the whole present in a box in a box in a box thing. I think there are some more creative ways to wrap presents but I have a hard enough time as it is ;)

aeroshaker 12-30-2009 08:17 PM

I like wrapping gifts and making them look good. I don't like awkward shapes though, so I usually find boxes to put everything in. Its one of my pet peeves...I just like having the gifts look perfect...although they aren't always.

XxA_Wistful_InsanityxX 12-30-2009 08:29 PM

Sounds like you could use some serious help on wrapping presents. I'm pretty good at it. : )

The Dark Mirror 12-30-2009 10:22 PM

All you can do it practice...or get someone who's really good to show you. That's what I did. My Dad is like a gift wrapping master. I had him show me back in middle school cuz I was epic-fail giftwrapping for my boyfriend at the time. XD

Kokihi 12-30-2009 10:24 PM

haha! My boyfriend fails at wrapping presents so bad he had me wrap all the gifts he got this year. the only ones he wrapped were the ones that were for me.
(or so I thought, I found out later that his mom wrapped them)

Akuma-hime 12-31-2009 06:42 AM

yes i too suck at that... I cant fold right or cut a straight line even though i draw it.
so i just stuff everything in a bag or a box

Hayzel 12-31-2009 09:04 AM

My dad taught me to wrap present when I was about 5

Chalkboard 12-31-2009 02:01 PM

Heh... I sort of learnt by trial and error, you know? Tearing the wrapping paper off and starting it again when I was smaller =) now it seems natural to me, but sometimes I still manage to stuff it up!

Peppermint 12-31-2009 02:06 PM

LOL me too!
my friends are like
"what is this crap?"

RawrMuse 12-31-2009 03:08 PM

hmm well im not tht bad at it^^ it's not so hard if chu practice actually :P or maybe it is >.> dunno...i just naturally learn how to do things on my own^^

Amelia 12-31-2009 03:30 PM

I make my boyfriend wrap a lot of things, I suck at it so much.

The wrapping paper is just never where I want it to be. D:
Lately I've stopped caring as much, people are too busy tearing it off to notice how well wrapped it is anyway. xD

Trystan 12-31-2009 03:43 PM

haha xD

thats why I never worry about wrapping them fancy like.

I just usually wrap it in a ball and hope they can't tell whats in it XD;

X---AznCo0ki3 12-31-2009 03:46 PM

I think the only thing I DO know how to perfectly wrap are square objects....like chocolate boxes xD

Or else its always me a present and a handy dandy gift bag (=
Though I AM getting better at it ^ ^
Wrapping all sorts of things this year...my cousins are flying in from every where xD
Kindaa crazy >_________________________________________________ ____<

Kokihi 12-31-2009 06:26 PM

here is an easy solution for all those who cant wrap presents!

bundle the gift up in tissue paper and use a gift bag! XD lol

Kris 12-31-2009 09:54 PM

I LOVE wrapping presents. I love it more than unwrapping them. I love it when I can make one look nice and pretty, because it's just so pleasant to have good-looking gifts under the tree.

Sev en Ester 12-31-2009 09:58 PM

-pops in-

Yes, wrapping is more fun than unwrapping, especially because unwrapping makes a mess...but it's fun to wrap things...it's like slapping a label on an invisible object and pointing at it 'this is for you. It's there but you can't tell what it is, NYAAHHAHAHAA!!'

....-sev's sadistic strange side-
