My christms avie...too much...too little
 

So anyway I wanted to start a thread that was for helping me, or anyone really, with making the Christmas avie...in the hopes that it will help me make better avies in the future.

I am trying to use the event items as a base for the avie, so that is why I am calling it a "Christmas"avi.

I am wearing the bowtie, the men's blue shirt, the blue pleated skirt, the sprinkles stockings and the mouse from the event store. Everything else is stuff from other events.

So come on give me your advice, or if someone else posts, and asks for help give them some too. I only ask you address who the advice is going to. Ex "Amy I think this shoe may be better..."

Saying someone looks nice is very nice, but I am really trying to learn layering here, and specific places to work will be more helpful.

Ohhh and yeah, my basic plan was to "just put on all the light blue stuff I own on" It kinda made me a mess huh? In my defense I did take off the kimono...(I know, I know...I dress a mess off line too...)

I may not be able to get back to this thread for a few hours, as I have car trip planned, and that will take a few hours, but rest assured I really do want advice. I will be looking forward to reading it as soon as I get a chance.

Ohh and I know the eyes and lipstick make my face look rather deer in the the headlights, but I like that, so I will probably keep it. I keep hoping we will get an update where we can use basic makeup, I would love a dark purple lip, over the zombie one.

I actually don't have that many problems with your avatar but the caramel swirly thingy (I don't know what it's called) makes the bottom of your avatar look nice but also leaves the impression that the top is kinda empty. Or maybe it's just me >.<

Amy: Your avatar isn't bad, actually. The lips bother me bit because you look like you're dying of frostbite. And there's too much blue and not enough white. It doesn't balance out very well and you look like Violet from Willy Wonka. .w.; Only, not round. xP

And there's not enough tan. I can see it on the feet and the waist-area, but there's none up top, so it throws off the avatar.

Just my opinion though. <3

You don't always have to stay with one or two colors, you know? Go wild! As long as you're happy, I'm happy. All that matters about your avatar is that you're happy with it, why care what others think if it makes you happy? This is advice for everyone! My naked avatar makes me happy! 8D Hahah, kidding. But you get the point.

It's a nice avi, but I'm not sure the background is necessary.

I like it but I find that the background does not match.

I think the swirls at the bottom are a little too much, but other then that, it's perfect.

Its really cute but reminds me more of winter than Christmas but its fine, I really like it. :D Atleast you have a sort of winter avie, mine is still stuck as halloween sort of theme. XD

To be perfectly honest, it doesn't remind me much of Christmas, or even winter. You have too much teal in it. If it were more of a sky blue it would be better, I think. Too much Atlantis color.

I does seem to be more of a water theme than winter...maybe change your hair to match a color tone within the outfit...and a slightly different hue of blue...either deeper or lighter...

Now It really doesn't look like Christmas, but, I have taken a lot of advice and am happy with it. Any one want to add their 2 cents over this one? I am wondering about the hairpin especially.

Mmm, as one who is a little messed up with Christmas avies myself, the only thing I can really say is its a tad clashy. Like...you want to be dark yet cheery at the same time. But I wouldn't say its bad.

Get rid of the chocolate mug and the presents....they clash with your avatar.
And guess what? Mines crappy. Am I right?

Just my opinion which I couldn't help but state but I kinda like your avi Android. Don't ask me to explain why but to me it just kind of suits your name, like they go. Iunno. nw<

i dont know much about making themed avis so i cant really give advice.

as for your current avi i really like it though
