I kinda do and kinda don't at the same time
I know he's not real but I still pretend sometimes, just for the fun of it xD |
Nope. I don't even remember ever believing in him. I would go to the mall to sit on some guys lap, but I don't think I actually thought he was Santa. But I do remember being, like, eight years old and telling my younger step-brothers that he was just a lie. XD
I don't believe in the santa that goes around the world giving gifts to all children that are nice or whatever.
But I do believe in the original santa story about the poor village that had failed crops for one winter and were going hungry. An isolated old man who lived near the village had extra wheat and used some to feed a nearby herd of reindeer. Then he hooked his sled up to a few of the reindeer and went to the village in the middle of the night to drop small bundles of wheat at every house so the children wouldn't go hungry. |
I learned in the first grade that "Santa" was my mom. I had a friend who had come over and told me that he was dead. My mom fessed up so that my friend and I wouldn't be fighting. However I was lucky enough to have little brothers who did still believe in Santa so that I still get Santa presents. lol ^.^
It would've been nice if I had gotten to believe in him a little longer and just gradually learned that it was my mom like most kids. |
lol, i didn't want to believe Santa wasn't real till I was 12. I should have guessed from previous years that some of the cookies were still there. :P If Santa loved them so much wouldn't he have taken them all?
I actually didn't know who my 'santas' were until I found a Wal-mart receit(sp?)...
I would still keep the idea alive for my younger cousins cause, I almost always got a Santa present until I discovered who my 'santas' were. |
I don't believe in Santa now. :( I try to think that he exist but now..........no. :stare: |
I haven't 'believed in' Santa as a 'real person' for a very long time, but I do 'believe in Santa' in the sense of believing that he embodies the holiday spirit, kind of. Like, I don't believe there really is a dude in a red suit who lives at the North Pole and brings gifts to good children. But I believe that anyone can 'be Santa,' if they are generous and good to others. and appreciative and thankful to those who have helped them during the rest of the past year. The holiday season is just an excuse, to me, to take those ideas and feelings and have a special time to celebrate them. So in a way, I do believe in Santa as an concept, if not a concrete person.
Nope.
I still put out milk and cookies...but I guess my belief is more in the "Christmas Spirit" than in a physical Santa Claus. Although, I do think there was a Santa Claus at one time or another (not so much with the flying reindeer, but you know what I mean). But no matter what, I hope my future children believe in Santa Claus the person for at least a little while. It was always so magical for me =^_^=
I'm 18 and I'm proud to say I believe. I know it's my parents that leave the presents from 'Santa' but it's like the tooth fairy, that part of you thats still a kid... it should never stop believing.
I figured out the whole Santa thing a while ago. While it's nice to have faith in something reasonable (like in your friends and loved ones) to hold onto a belief you know is false can be dangerous. It's nice to get into the holiday spirit, but try not to take it too far. ;^.^
I'm a little to old to still believe in him.
Sadly, I never believed in Santa. My parents didn't tell me stuff like that.
I believe in the spirit of Santa, and I think that's what's important.
The joy of giving, just to brighten someone's holiday or to put a smile on their face - that's what Santa is, and that's what I believe in. |
I don't believe in Santa anymore, but I still joke about how my friend and her sister are going to get coal because they fight all the time.
My brother still believes in Santa and elves and leprechans, etc. and I'm still waiting for my parents to tell him the truth like they did to me.. |
i'm sorry, but i don't believe in him
I don't, but I don't ruin it for others either. If my parents are all "Look what Santa got you!" I'll play along, but the belief was over a long time ago. But I still love Christmas and all the cheer that comes along with it and I'm happy watching my little cousins go nuts over being good when December 25th draws near.
I never believed in him. My parents kept trying to convince my by pulling tricks such as having 'Santa' ring the doorbell and leave a present at the door since we didn't have a chimney when I was four. However, I knew it was actually my uncle ringing the door since he'd 'gone to the store to pick up a spice Grandma needs for dinner', but his car was still parked in the same place and the store was nine miles away, so he wasn't going to walk there.
I was far too analytical for my own good at that age. :XD |
I've moved on to Panty Clause.
I'm a closet believer. Yeah, I know my parents get me the gifts, and wrote the notes/ate the cookies when I was little. But there's just something magical about this time of year, that can't be explained away. There's Christmas magic.
I don't believe in him in the way he's the one who drops off presents and all that jazz... But I believe in the spirit of Santa Clause.
I get annoyed with the commercialized Christmas. But I do believe in the idea of Santa Clause and the ideas he represents. What was that news paper article...?
Anyway, I also have a weird obsession with Catholic saints, even though I'm Protestant. They're all just so interesting. |
I never really believed in him, but I played along with it. We spent Christmas at grandma's and my twin bro and I would sleep on the bed that folded out from the livingroom couch. I remember staying awake listening to my mom and grandma talking in the diningroom. When it got quiet and I heard them messing near where the stockings were hung up for Santa I would slip out of bed and try to catch them at it...never could catch them. Mom told me later when I was out of high school that they always had to scramble back to the table to try to look like they weren't doing anything sneaky. I was always proud of that :)
I believed in him when i was a kid. not anymore. took my baby nephew to see santa this year - that kid FREAKED.
