Those little fountain thingys and candlabras. Everyone seems to get at least one each christmas. They are a no brainer gift.

Every year I get hand sanitizer from my Aunt. -_-

Either the baby doll I got for my 16th birthday or the Barbie Desk Set I got for Christmas that same year.

hmm, probably clothes. I never get clothes anymore though, thankfully.
worst present I've given is...umm...I don't actually give bad gifts xD probably something that I made myself, but it fell apart really quick :[

This year, I got a rock from my friend Ray. XD It's okay though, it was part of an inside joke about rocks from Brighton (where he was on holiday)

I'm sure when I was little I gave loads of horrible gifts... like those crappy cards I always find lying around the house in really bad handwriting :-P I suppose the worst thing you can get from someone you care about is nothing, not even a card. Especially for your birthday, since most people celebrate birthdays. (except of course some religions/cultures)

The worst gift I ever received was for my fake "16th" birthday. I went to Jamaica for my cousin's wedding which just happened to be at the same time as my 15th b-day. Technically I wasn't old enough to be on the resort, so I had to tell a lot of lies, avoid the creepy advances of the male wait staff, while constantly refusing alcohol. I really hate the taste of that stuff, but my parents even got me a Jamaican rum cake (which they promptly threw away after I was just starting to tolerate it). What's worse is that mum and dad left me at the hotel while they toured the island. It was my first (and last) time being out of the country, and I never went beyond the hotel compound. :/

Worst gift I ever gave was to my little niece when she was like 4ish. I bought her delicate crystal unicorns because I had tiny collectibles when I was her age. Well my sister liked them for her so much, she kept them in their boxes. I'm not even sure my niece knows they exist. In retrospect, glass is a terrible gift for a tot, but I was 16 at the time and they fit my 10 dollar X-mas shopping budget ! XD

Worst one I ever got was a mene item. no joke, i really could have bought it myself, no irl cash required xD

Worst one I gave was a cross decoration thingy. (I think my grandma has enough of those by now xD)

This wasn't for Christmas, but my mom gave me a tube of toothpicks as a gift once a few years back. I was upset for some reason or another and then out of the blue she said, "I know what will make you feel better," and extracted the toothpicks and gave them to me. The funniest/saddest part was that she wasn't trying to be humorous when she did it. XD She was genuinely sincere. They were cinnamon flavored though and probably cost more than the average tube o' toothpicks, but still... come on.

The worst present I've given were the "fishing rods" I'd continuously craft year after year for my dad on every gift-giving occasion. They were always made out of two popsicle sticks, a piece of colorful ribbon, and a bent paperclip, and I'd INSIST that he use it. He never was a fishing or sporting person though, and I seriously doubt he'd catch anything other than a strand of grass and a cold. I was young at those times though. Eventually I grew out of it. :lol:

I got earings... my ears closed up two years ago.

my grandma got my sister this terribly ugly purse (which she gave to me) last year the only good thing about it was the money inside but we usually get exactly what we want

My brother got me Bumpits as a gag gift. It would have been a horrible gift idea if I didn't know he wasn't serious. XD;

The worse present I got was a box of scented bodywashes Ooo, wow!.. And it wasn't even originally bought for me. :| It was my sister's gift, but she didn't want it.

Not only did the bodywash make me skin break out, but she wanted the nasty stuff back. = ..= Worst.. Week.. Ever.

I've gotten a ruler for my birthday. A ruler.
I got a vest, Hannah Montana jacket and a pink fluffy sweater from my grandma. I can't stand sweaters or vests.
I got a rock from my mom. But I got a DS with it, so it's okay. XD

I don't know the worst Christmas present I've given. I always make anyone who I'm buying for tells me what they want. :D

My father's wife gave me empty tins one year, the kind you get popcorn or candy in. Granted they were decorative but, really? Empty tins? She could have at least put some candy or nuts in them.

I have to say plastic kistchy sp? christmas ornaments. It was well meant though.
When in doubt it's best to give a "consumable" type gift.

I think the worst gifts are the bath accessories. They just seem so impersonal and maybe a little insulting haha. "Do I...do I smell??"

No, but really. Unless the person likes a particular scent or brand, it's just a random gift. Maybe I see it this way because I'm rarely able to use these things; I have allergies so I can't use most perfumed bath accessories.

That's what I'm saying! I hate getting things that send the wrong message. "Here take this soap.." Which is really. "You stink, use these.. Really!"

Well, I have one friend that I can barely think of ever giving a decent present. She tries though, she just sucks at it.
Everyone kind of hates her gifts, but we all fake happiness. xD

The worst present I ever gave? Er, I'm actually pretty good about gift giving... Oh, yeah! My roommate's dad, I got him this really nifty vodka that had a neat coffee flavor to it. Then I found out that he doesn't LIKE coffee. Eh, honest mistake.
