I'm in LOVE with that damn series!
I interviewed Gregory Maguire himself (the author, lolzduh) through e-mail for this "researched-argument paper" I did for AP English last year. He's such an interesting person!
AND HE SENT ME A PERSONAL LETTER IN THE MAIL IN RESPONSE TO MY E-MAIL ASKING TO INTERVIEW HIM! Even though he was swamped with crap (he and his family went to Cancun for the holidays, he was half-working already on the "fourth and final book" in the Wicked Years series, and he appeared on Oprah the day before I handed in my paper!!), he was so dedicated to letting me interview him!
My paper was on same-sex marriage, and since he and "the Wicked people" (the people involved in the actual Broadway production) are such active supporters of same-sex marriage, he was all for it.

I loved every minute of it. He gave me my fifteen minutes' claim of fame! 8D I couldn't be any more grateful!

i've read wicked, son of a witch, and i own the 3rd... it is something about a lion... a lion among men... maybe? i haven't read it yet

@aq_aria: i just heard about the two trickster books actually... but i plan to buy them asap lol i can't wait... :D

Have you tried the immortal series?

A Lion Among Men is such a slow read, to be honest. :roll: I loved the beginning and end, but the middle was just so hard to get through!
I had a spazz attack when I saw it in Target in November of '08. :rofl: I saw it and just HAD to buy it! Didn't know it had even came out!

Gregory Maguire told me in his letter that the working title for the fourth book is 'Out of Oz'... He went off on explaining what he meant by it... "you know, out of gin, what's the news out of Africa," ... he's got such a personality!
I cherish his letter SO much. I carried it around with me during school for a month when I first received it. :roll:

I'd recommend reading it when you're sick. ;) That way you can devote all of your sniffling attention to it! P: It can get so boring, but the ending just left me SPEECHLESS. Maguire is superb at making you want to get the next book... @[email protected] I can't flipping wait!
