Awww, I just noticed the event started. When I saw the first page I thought yay, its mostly wallflowers here, but I forgot to factor in the time. Oh well.

And I've never broken a present myself either...at least I don't remember it :)

JellybeanInc 12-24-2009 08:42 AM

@Fly: I never got to actually play or even really touch mine. I had them all in a glass cabinet.

@Kitty: I'm not so sure that the box it was in was packed carefully enough.

kittykatt89 12-24-2009 08:42 AM

yeah so far it has been wallflowers and a few others. we don't know if cookie is going to make an event thread yet.

nevermind there is one.

chibikomeh 12-24-2009 08:44 AM

Ah, ok. Well I don't mind talking with people I know anyway. :)

And as for presents, after a few disappointing Christmas's my parents have given up on surprising us. Now they just ask us what we want and give us a reasonable amount of it.

JellybeanInc 12-24-2009 08:44 AM

*ears perk up* There is!? *goes to look*

And hi Chibi! *waves*

FlyWithoutWingz 12-24-2009 08:45 AM

Wow good job! :D
Now a days I try to avoid getting those fragile items as much as possible.

Surprises are the fun part. :D Although getting something you don't like is a different story. XD

kittykatt89 12-24-2009 08:45 AM

yes i went and looked in the regular thread and found the link.

JellybeanInc 12-24-2009 08:49 AM

@Kitty: I saw that! I am now involved in 4 conversation. @[email protected] I'm so glad it hasn't gotten really fast yet.

@Fly: I don't get fragile things anymore either. Although sometimes I still wished I did. The dolls there cute.

kittykatt89 12-24-2009 08:51 AM

i am in this one and the wallflower event thread. before i found the wallflower one i was thinking of going to bed.

JellybeanInc 12-24-2009 08:52 AM

The Wallflowers have sucked you in, huh?
I'm here, the wallflower thread, the Town Hall Ballroom, and my own Comfy Couch. @[email protected]

kittykatt89 12-24-2009 08:54 AM

yes they have.

FlyWithoutWingz 12-24-2009 08:55 AM

@Jelly: ^^; I see...>.< I swear my friend is getting me a Russian Doll for Christmas...I think I"m gonna have nightmares about [email protected][email protected];

chibikomeh 12-24-2009 08:57 AM

Why is that Fly? Russian dolls can have really pretty dresses.

Also, hi back Jelly.

JellybeanInc 12-24-2009 08:57 AM

Why? You don't like them? Wait...are you talking about the ones that nest in themselves? or like a porcelain doll dressed as a Russian?

chibikomeh 12-24-2009 08:59 AM

Oh, I hadn't thought of the ones that nest in themselves. I never really liked those, I mean its a neat idea but you can't really play with them beyond pulling them in and out of themselves.

FlyWithoutWingz 12-24-2009 09:00 AM

oOo so that's what they're called... porcelain doll I thought they were Russian dolls for some reason...o_O; learn something new...they're cute but the thing is I keep remember this story about the doll staring at you and then having them say "Play with me, Play with me..." and then comes tugging at your sleeve...>.< I don't mind looking at them but owning one is a different story for me.

kittykatt89 12-24-2009 09:01 AM

i have a porcelain doll. i have had for a long time now.

chibikomeh 12-24-2009 09:05 AM

I have many porcelain dolls, but like everything I never really took care of them. I was a pretty destructive girl growing up. Not intentionally, it was more just carelessness.

JellybeanInc 12-24-2009 09:06 AM

@Chibi: My grandparents brought one back when they lived in Russia for a time, and I found a way to play with it. xD I just love the fact that they're all hand drawn. Some of the "dresses" are beautiful.

@Fly: Which is why mine were always locked up in the cabinet. They creeped even me out sometimes.

kittykatt89 12-24-2009 09:06 AM

mine is all dusty.

i am going to bed now good night everyone.

chibikomeh 12-24-2009 09:06 AM

night kitty

And Jelly that sounds really neat. The closest to Russia I've ever gotten was I had a friend in high school who spoke Russian. She was neat, she was awesome.

FlyWithoutWingz 12-24-2009 09:09 AM

Good night kitty!

Hahahaha...I can see why you guys lock them up. XP How much does one porcelain dolls cost anyways?

chibikomeh 12-24-2009 09:11 AM

It really varies, you can find some small ones for as little as $5. Most of the ones I get are between $10-20. However, some companies have to feel special and charge gobs of money. For example, I heard American Girl dolls are over $100. (I believe they are also porcelain).

FlyWithoutWingz 12-24-2009 09:17 AM

O_O wow...that's expensive...a $100....
But then again not as expensive as those BJD dolls...>.<

JellybeanInc 12-24-2009 09:19 AM

Night night Kitty.

I can't remember how much most of my dolls were. They varied between $5 and $150 sometimes. It depended on what manufacturer we went with I think. And those BJD's are insanely expensive!
