I'm good. Just multitasking. And I just downloaded the preview of the next Anita Blake book by Laurell K. Hamilton. But this thread is moving to fast for me to go read it. XD

@Terrena: I actually haven't read any of Hamilton's books. I'm kind of afraid to, honestly, just looking at the covers. >_>; Of course...I know how covers can be extremely misleading a lot of times. I actually just went and picked up a bunch of books by Tamora Pierce...burned up that Books-A-Million gift card real fast. :D

Well, the first part of the Anita Blake series is pretty much tame and either has no juicy scenes to maybe one of two a book the further you get into it. But once you really get into it, like at "Narcississ in Chains" it's like nothing but sex most of the time. But I still enjoy the books regardless.

@Terrena: Hmm...so basically the author draws her readers in before dumping the smut on them then? Interesting tactic...XD Well, maybe I'll go check out the earlier books then, since you say they're not so bad. I know she's really popular...her books take up a couple of shelves at the bookstores, so they must be pretty good. ^_^;

I used to like Hamilton's books. But ever since about book 5 of her Anita Blake series it's pretty much straight porn. Which isn't a bad thing.... sometimes. But I don't want to carry it around and have people go - oh, what are you reading and then have to come up with something pg to say.

Seriously, you can flip any of her new books open to some random page and there will be something going on that you shouldn't read out loud.

Castella: Well, the series started in the 80s. And her characters change throughout due to different things that happened in her personal life. Currently, the books seem to be swapping between staying with the story line, to going with storyline and more sex, to staying with the storyline.

Other books I like to read, well. I read her other series, The Meredith Gentry series. I read both the Mercedes Thompson and the Alpha and Omega series by Patricia Briggs. And the Dark/Were/Dream Hunter series and the Lords of Avalon series by Sherrilyn Kenyon/Kinley McGregor. Basically, most of the stuff I read is paranormal romance.

I hate text books. They bore me. Although, the text book I had for Western Civilization 1 was actually pretty good.

Yea, it takes me forever to get something read during the semester. Unless I actually have the time to read it. Like most of the books I want come out around the same time (February/March). I'll be spending a lot of money there to get the next book in a bunch of series. XD

Janus, Harry Potter is boring! But I have read all the books. XD I've read all the Twilight saga too. XD

@Blood: I feel for you there. ;_; Really, I do. Trying to get my master's, so all of my reading is dictated by stuffy professors. -_-;;

@Terrina: I recognize some of the authors' names, but I don't know much about any of them...haven't read anything by them. I tend to stick with fantasy novels that have a little romance mixed in (without being governed by it). But, you know, a paranormal romance can be fun to read now and again. :D

And yeah...I guess Hamilton's probably gotten more..."creative freedom"...as times have changed. I suppose it's just what she's interested in right now...or what gets her food on the table and a roof over her head. (A very nice roof probably.) ^_~

@Jezriel: Yeah...I'm really just not into that kind of stuff, honestly. I wouldn't mind reading her pre-smut books, but I'd probably get tired of it if it became all sex. -_-; As I said before, I prefer strong storylines with a little romance mixed in.
