I'm not very good at the technical things myself.

TerrenaAnimula 12-31-2009 01:04 AM

Yea, if it is very minimal wiring, I can possibly doing it. But there's so many wires back there at my TV and don't know one wire from another. So, long story short, I wired it all wrong. XD

What does a cable have to do with a ps2??

TaiyoTsuki 12-31-2009 01:06 AM

You need a cable to be able to plug the thing into the TV so you can play it.

TerrenaAnimula 12-31-2009 01:07 AM

Well, my tv is 15 years old so I have to have a switch box. And since I had to add in a cable box to the whole system, I somehow have managed to screw in wires wrong. So, I have cable, but no PS2 popping up on my tv. Before I had the cable box, it was simple and I had regular cable and not digital cable and I had it wired correctly and I had PS2 popping up on my tv.

Naisou 12-31-2009 01:12 AM

hello everyone. :)

GrannyJ 12-31-2009 01:12 AM

Does your father do technical things well?

TerrenaAnimula 12-31-2009 01:13 AM

Hello, Naisou!

Yes, he does. He works on computers and just about all things electronic. XD

Rei Ann 12-31-2009 01:14 AM

You don't need cable too play a ps2, I played a ps2 for years on my tv without cable or statelite.

TerrenaAnimula 12-31-2009 01:15 AM

I know you don't need it. But I have cable. And it is such a pain to screw and unscrew the cables for the PS2 and the cable to show up on my tv.

GrannyJ 12-31-2009 01:16 AM

Too many cables, and not enough cable connections.

TerrenaAnimula 12-31-2009 01:17 AM

I know. I should be buying a new tv with more inputs on it. But I'd rather have the desktop since my 15 year old tv still works. And I hate the tv controller. XD No numbers. So I'm glad I have a cable box that uses its own controller as it has numbers.

GrannyJ 12-31-2009 01:20 AM

You need a new LCD TV, dear.

They have a wonderfull picture!

TerrenaAnimula 12-31-2009 01:22 AM

I know. But I don't know what size to get. Because I have a small room and I can't get something huge. I think my current tv is a 19in?

Unscrew the cables for the ps2? but you should be able to just pull in the red, whte and yellow things and the power cord and be able to play.

TerrenaAnimula 12-31-2009 01:23 AM

Those don't even exist on my tv. Only the cable input/output things.

GrannyJ 12-31-2009 01:25 AM

My husband just purchased a 22 inch. It seems to work fairly well, but he doesn't sit too far away.

In our family room, we have a 50 inch TV. Very Nice.

TerrenaAnimula 12-31-2009 01:26 AM

I think my dad has a 50" one. I know that it is at least 50" though. He has it so he can also bring up his desktop on it. It also has USB ports on it.

But depending upon what we watch it on it, I sometimes have a hard time focusing on it. Especially if it is something that is fast-moving.

GrannyJ 12-31-2009 01:28 AM

I don't believe I would want to do computer things on our 50 inch set.

It would be too hard, I think.

TerrenaAnimula 12-31-2009 01:29 AM

He mainly shows people photos he has taken or watch movies that way. He also has it so the sound comes up on his huge custom speakers he made before I was born.

He wants surround sound now but he can't find a set that is at least as good as the speakers he made. XD

Oh that make sense now.

GrannyJ 12-31-2009 01:29 AM

Oh yes, we have very large speakers also.

I think that nowadays there are better speakers that are much smaller.

TerrenaAnimula 12-31-2009 01:30 AM

Yea. I think the tv in the living room has them though. But then, that tv is only 6 years old I guess.

Yep, although, computer speakers, most of the ones that come with computers now are horrible. The speakers that came with my current desktop are really nice and they came with a sub woofer. XD So, I'm going to keep those. And the new computer I'm getting comes with them to, but no subwoofer. XD How is it spelt?

GrannyJ 12-31-2009 01:32 AM

We have some surround-sound speakers, but unfortunately the house had not been wired for them.

As a result, we have wires going up the wall and along the ceiling.

When we get new flooring, then we will put a trench in for the cables.

TerrenaAnimula 12-31-2009 01:32 AM

My dad has all the wires in through the ceiling I think. Because it is one of those tile ceilings.
