Things that require ovens always turn out wrong for me, I can never figure out why. At first I thought it was me not preheating them properly but nope... they just hate me.

I can cook rice and pasta on the stove and skillet meals which is my diet.

Yeah I'm the same way Jecy! I can make packaged foods like Macaroni and Cheese and Cake from a box, but if I make anything from scratch, it's terrible! :S I'm cursed!

And yeah, the oven scares me too. I always think someone is going to push me in it or I'll fall into the oven...black hole style. Like it's just going to suck me in.

Oh, I like Alton Brown as well. He really does try to educate people on what's happening with the foods he's making. I'm not a big fan of cooking shows otherwise.

I do like Ace of Cakes and Food Network Challenge though. I don't really count them as "cooking shows."

Oh man, I am a total food network addict, I love Barefoot Contessa and Good Eats. I'm not a very good cook but watching those shows makes me feel like I COULD do it.

Yes I love Alton Brown, good eats is an amazing show.

I always worry about leaving the oven on, or leaving a burner on.

We currently have an electric stove, but my husband wants a gas one, so I really worry about those burners.

Well I think they can help you cook <.< if challenages tell you the recipes?.?

There's a mythbusters marathon running all Christmas Day on Discovery Channel. Ha! I'll actually be somewhere with cable for a change.

I get hungry when I watch the food channel so I won't watch it if I don't have food

Oh, but gas stoves are soooo much easier to cook on! I may not cook much but I can make a mean box of macaroni and cheese. I practically lived off it when I lived in a dorm and trying to cook with that darn electric stove was awful! I could never tell when it was done heating up or if it was on or not and it just wasn't that good. I may not be a good cook but I know that gas stoves are better than electric.

Nah, challenge isn't really all that much about cooking. Mostly they make sculptures and stuff out of edible materials.
