People tend to be overly intimidated on how hard it is to learn how to write Chinese. There is a learning curve at first, but then it gets MUCH easier to learn new characters after that. It really isn't as hard as most people think it is.

Well she thinks I don't cook right.. but I have never had a complaint from anyone but her. She thinks I don't raise the kids right and that I keep it too cold in the house. And that I need to clean more.... its annoying and I am like look I am an adult and I know what I am doing so why why do you act like this towards me!

Rylynne - feeling okay, but tired too. Also starting to feel the pressure of all the stuff that I have to have done by mid-January, so the next few weeks are going to start getting really busy @[email protected]

I know what it's like to be running around crazy, Ivvy. Past week has been mad. Things will settle down back to 'normal' until school starts mid month. I'm nervous and excited about it at the same time.

Congrats on the wedding, and I feel you about the mother in law. My first was a NIGHTMARE. My second one is sweet and really thoughtful. The only thing I have against her is her toxic relationship she's in with her longterm boyfriend, but that's her choice really.

@ Zumi-Tash.. lol well we understand one another then. She is not a mean person persay just so know it all she drives me nuts with it. Heath was her only kid and her husband passed on when he was about 6 months old. So it was always him and her. So its like I get flack because I am stealing her baby. .>.<. So I try to make nice with her as much as I can. Though it makes my toung hurt to bite it so much >.<

Are you the first serious relationship he's been in and is he an only child or the eldest? She just might be having trouble adjusting. I think that was part of the issue with my first husband, as he was the eldest and to be honest his mother did EVERYTHING for him and it was really hard when I came between the two of them. She didn't like me from day one, but liked these other horrid girls her other sons were bringing home it made me feel really inadequate. Plus I had a hell of a time adjusting to a new country that I spent a lot of time holed up in his bedroom, just to get some space and peace and quiet. It didn't help I couldn't get a job (so no money) and his mother was really anal and had to have her chores done a certain way - everything I did she would undo or redo over to her liking. It drove me nuts enough that I quickly stopped trying.

He is an only child. >.< And I am his only relationship that has ever been serious. He didn't really date. He saw a couple of girls in the Navy when we weren't together but it only made him want to be with me again. So its both of those. And I feel you she undos everything I do. >.< And she made fun of my cooking... ! I have awards and medals in cooking for crying out loud. but I made stovetop for thanksgiving because her son prefers it! lol >.<

*grins* It sounds like she's just being overprotective of her baby, which as annoying as it is in her world will feel like she's only doing it in her son's best interest. Does he know how you feel about his mother? Usually things blow over in time, as it did with my current MIL. She didn't dislike me totally, but after Aaron's first disastrous marriage, she was leery of me as I was the first girlfriend he brought to her to meet. He had casually dated off and on but didn't feel any sort of spark so kinda kept his personal life from his mom and children as much as humanly possible.

lol Well I think it was good of him not to introduce his kids to girls he casually dated. Thats safer for them. :) I would feel the same about mine.

And yeah she just is kind of leery of me because people saied I was a satanist back in high school because I wore a lot of black. O.o load of BS though. She is really into the bible thumping. So there's not a lot I can do to change her view of me right away it will take time and a load of proof for her to know I am not down with the devil so to speak. >.<

Bah to judge you from people's impressions way back in high school is kind of insulting. I wore a lot of black myself, and I was a totally different person then and now. I've grown up a lot.

I'm glad that no one around here would of known me from those times...I've moved around so much growing up though I don't know what a lot of childhood friends have become...

I must be the only person who doesn't understand that movie...everyone thinks it's awesome, and while I think David Bowie plays an AWESOME villain, I think the rest of the movie is poorly edited and just runs on too long. (Of course my husband has the extended scenes dvd...)
