But, it does make sense in a way.

Oops, I meant that in other events, when there was no time needed to get event items, everyone would wait till the last minute to cash in items, and the site will start to lag. ^^;;

I don't quite like the wait time, but I understand it. What I don't like is that it doesn't always work.
