Ah, I can understand that. I still play video games when I can't sleep, but only certain ones that will help me feel a bit more sleepy. I find reading keeps me awake o_o;;

It's bad for your eyes if you do that though- with no light, I mean. It strains your eyes and can hurt them severely in the long run. That's why you shouldn't do that.

I need it to be medium bright. It can't be low brightness, but not extreme sunlight either. I have horrible night vision, though.

Well, I don't see a reason why we can't do it here. After all, last event I became involved in a roleplay in one of Mr. Mayor's threads. XD

So who should start? Our characters should both enter, instead of just pretending they were already there, I think. And my avatar is what my character looks like.

The heels of long black buckled boots made a very soft sound against the floor as the hooded youth walked. The lightness of his steps hinted that if he wished, he could walk without making a sound. But he was not hunting at the moment for anything more than a place to rest.

Footsteps slowing down, they stopped entirely for a moment while he contemplated a door, and whether or not to pass through it. After several seconds, he stepped forward and pushed the door open, entering into the library of the mansion.

Earlier, he had gone unseen throughout the entire building, searching for his target. So far, it would appear that his victim had denied the invitation to the party, leaving him with nothing to do. Now tired, the boy looked to the quiet library for a place to rest.

Cautiously, he began to walk about to room to make sure it was safe to remain there.

Sorry it took me so long, I wound up getting a phone call.

She saw the peculiar boy, curious as to what was going on and why he seemed so nervous. Without much caution, she ran over to him and tapped his shoulder after she entered the library, smiling softly. "How are you? Is everything okay?" Her smile was soft and gentle, violet hair draped over her shoulder to protect it from any cold. "You seem uneasy."

Err, I didn't say he was nervous. Also... Does he really seem like the type to run up to? ^^;;

Before the girl could touch him, he was on top of a book case and crouching, peering down at her from above. The one eye that was exposed was red, though who could tell if that was really the color of his eyes. The visible eye was narrowed, as if calculating what to do. After a few moments, he sheathed the wakizashi he had pulled out while jumping out of the way.

Though the girl had spoken to him, he didn't reply with words.

I would suggest not to assume things about characters. ^^;; I mean, he's an assassin, and I believe there was a good enough hint at that in my first post. An assassin isn't likely to be careless enough to let someone just run up and touch them. =S

She looked around confusedly- had the man been an illusion? She couldn't see him anymore. "I really need to be more careful... I could knock a bookcase over and cause trouble if I'm not careful about where I run to to try to bug an imaginary figure." She shook it off, rushing to another bookcase to pick up a particular book- one written about the lore of where she came from, written by her mother. "Mom used to read this to me all the time when she was writing it... Yet here I am reading it published?"

I'd ask to join, but I would feel kind of awkward role playing dressed only in my skivvies.
