::waves at where Cecilia was standing::
Oh dear. Little Cecelia was here, but nobody saw her.
That's very sad. |
starts walking around and picking up the loose books to be reshelved
aww never been to the library around here before ^^ *tries to find something to read*
What might be your favorite genre of book, Nessie?
this library is very extensive the mayor is very well read
He must be. *nods*
I hope to have a little personal library myself one day... Once I buy my first house, I intend to buy a cot, and then get started on some bookshelves and books to fill them. Working on those books now, actually, but I've got a ways to go before what I have can be called a personal library. :XD |
My library at home is filled with science fiction books.
Haha, mine is filled with fantasy. :) Some other genres, too, but anyone could easily tell from a look at my books that fantasy is my favorite.
my fave genre? hmm... i dunno, i'll read anything :3 but i mainly read fantasy books i guess.
Hm...*finds a book shaped like a wing* Here you go. See if that works. *grabs book for herself shaped like a crescent moon*
well I have mostly sci fi and fantasy I did a guesstimate count a while back and I figure I have about 4000 paperbacks and that doesn't include my manga and hardbacks
I do have some fantasy also.
Ohhh thanks White X3 i love wings! *opens the book to find a story about angels*
Hehe, I always liked them too. ^_^
*opens her book and reads stories about night things* |
Nessie, if you like fantasy some good books to try out might be: Sabriel by Garth Nix, The Firekeeper Saga by Jane Lindskold, Wildwood Dancing by Juliet Marlilier, The Inheritance cycle by Christopher Paolini, anything by Diana Wynne Jones (Dark Lord of Derkholm and Howl's Moving Caslte are my favorites), The Once and Future King by T.H. White, Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica by James A. Owen, The Sight by David Clement-Davies, the Abarat quaret by Clive Barker, The Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud, The Eyes of a King by Catherine Banner, and the Breaking the Wall series by Jane Lindskold. :)
Saiyana- That's impressive! I hope I'll have that many books one day. Right now, I only have a little over 200. |
oh my goodness, so many suggestions! hehe X3 i'm gonna have to save that list~
I love reccomending books to people when I'm itnerested in the genre they like. XD; What sort of fantasy do you like? About animals, for teens, for adults, modern, not modern? I can narrow it down some. c:
did you know there were two books in the wild wood dancing series?
Saiyana- Yes I did! I own them both. :) I liked Cybele's Secret quite a lot, but no where near as much as I love Wildwood Dancing. That may have been the best ten dollars I ever spent.
And to think I bought it only because I recognized the cover as my favorite painting by my favorite artist! Kinuko Y. Craft is such a lovely painter. |
I agree Wildwood is the better of the two
I loved Wildwood Dancing so much because I absolutely fell in love with the characters, and I spent a lot of time missing most of them while I was reading Cybele's Secret. I also fell in love with many newcomers in Cybele's Secret, but they didn't draw me in like the ones from the first book did.
I just got a lucky buy I came across the novel The Dragon's Eye it'spart of the dragonology books I got it for $3 and then by chance My sister gave me the book DRAGONOLOGY for Christmas.
::sits in my comfy window chair and gets lost in the story::
