Well first you need Daisy's sour cream.
No matter what size. Any size will do.

And buy Lipton's Recipe secrets and make sure it is just onion.
It is the mix for onion.

You open the mix and just shake as much as you feel you need and stir it up.

It will look like a cream/beige when it is done and that's all there is to it really.
I know not so homemade really.

But it tastes amazing.

Ah, thank you for letting me know! So it is basically sour cream and some onion mix. I am thinking of doing it possibly with those crunchy onion things...forget what they are called...and then some herbs and spices possibly in the future!
