Howdy again, Woody! And don't worry, you haven't missed much. :P How are your holidays going so far? Anything fun planned?

Linn: Ha, always the little ball of energy [roll] I'm glad you enjoy your work, though!
And that's cool! So are you working with kids having trouble academically, or socially, or what exactly do you do? It sounds rewarding, nonetheless. ^^

And wow, it really has been ages since I've really spoken to you guys. I just finished up Grade 11, and so next year will be my last year of high school. University is only a few years away at this point. :P So yeah, not quite the 12 year old you remember. [lol]

so for lack of better terms (and because it's almost midnight and i can't think politically correct at this hour) i work with the 'bad' kids who might not be able to stay in school otherwise and i help them learn appropriate ways to cope and yes, some have some social issues and we help with those too. we don't focus much at all on the academics, but we help them get to their classes, stay there and then teach them responsibilities like getting work done and being held accountable. it's basically all the stuff that we 'neurotypical' people learn from peers and such as we grow up. it can be kids who are any age k-12, and also they can be either behaviorally challenged or autism/some aspect of the spectrum, any variation of those things and sometimes more, anything like that.

does kirin like to dance?

Kat Dakuu 12-24-2014 04:39 AM

Zea is here again!
I need to get to the hotel so I can get online with my laptop not my phone.

zeapear 12-24-2014 04:40 AM

Ah, alright Linn. :) That actually sounds really great, and it's wonderful that you're helping these kids where otherwise they may get left behind. My mum works with special needs preschoolers and kindergarteners, and so it sounds like it may be a little similar to what you do, though I guess my mum's focus is more on looking after children that are incapable of doing so themselves (i.e. toileting children who have mobility problems, supervising children who may get overwhelmed/overstimulated, painting with them... Etc.), rather than having a one on one relationship. Do you enjoy your work?

Also, hi Kat!! Merry Christmas Eve!

Kat Dakuu 12-24-2014 04:42 AM

Merry indeed but it's not Xmas eve for me last I checked. How are you?

zeapear 12-24-2014 04:44 AM

Pff, maybe where you are it's not. :P I'm pretty good, just enjoying my holidays. How about you?

Kirin Rosenbaum 12-24-2014 04:45 AM

I like to dance when it's not a form dance. Like the waltz. I just like moving to the beat.

Kat Dakuu 12-24-2014 04:46 AM

I'm in the car. My family is down at my older brother's place. I feel surprisingly sober.

zeapear 12-24-2014 04:49 AM

You been drinking, Kat? So you driving down to meet your family for Christmas shenanigans and whatnot? We always have the Christmas stuff hosted at our house so we never have to go anywhere for Christmas. :P

Kat Dakuu 12-24-2014 04:52 AM

We had a whole pitcher of margarita with dinner for the four of us then Irish coffee after. We'll be here till Christmas day then go home and do presents there like usual. This is something different this year.

zeapear 12-24-2014 04:54 AM

Ah, coolio. That makes sense, then.

Also, sorry to dash but I currently smell worse than Linn. Which is saying something. :P So anyway, I'm gonna go bathe and I'll be back in like half an hour. Toodles!

I've seen a few friends, but mostly family stuffs. My friend is coming over Xmas Eve and staying for Christmas cause his family is in Ohio. You?

Kirin Rosenbaum 12-24-2014 05:04 AM

My family will be getting together after the holidays.

Woodlandnymph 12-24-2014 05:12 AM

Oh that's nice! We don't do a huge gathering. My brother and sister come with the kiddies and my aunt. We do breakfast, prezzies, lump around feeling fat, Christmas dinner happens, lump around a bit more feeling fat, playing games.

wickedwonderland 12-24-2014 05:14 AM

*wanders in* Hi everybody, how goes it?

Kirin Rosenbaum 12-24-2014 05:16 AM

you used to do Christmas presents but now it's just a chance to gather and connect.

Kat Dakuu 12-24-2014 05:16 AM

lol zea. Smell ya later!

the holidays really are good for feeling fat.

Hey Wickedwonderland. What's up?

Linnea 12-24-2014 05:17 AM

yes it can be stuff like that too actually. we call it learning 'life skills' but yea, sometimes we have to wipe a butt hahaha
and i do enjoy it for the most part although this past month i was dealt a bit of a crappy hand and i've been filling in for other staff for over five weeks. my kiddo ended up getting sent away and out of district so i was kid-less! this has been the only time in over a year that i didn't like my job much.

Linnea 12-24-2014 05:20 AM

yay for events! have you checked out any of the contests or the commons or anything?

Kirin Rosenbaum 12-24-2014 05:21 AM

I am doing my best not to over eat.

Woodlandnymph 12-24-2014 05:21 AM

I will snuggle the stuffing out of Krayne for you Linny Lumpkin!! He won't know what hit em.

Kat Dakuu 12-24-2014 05:22 AM

There's only one bathroom in this hotel so I may not be showering tonight.

Woodlandnymph 12-24-2014 05:23 AM

Showers are always nicer, more refreshing in the morning!
