I'm good with facts, statistics and numbers. But basic things I forget.
Maybe we create nmemonics for remembeirngthe names we have taken? |
I like pastel colors, but I'm not very good at using them. I always liked seeing your avatars. They layered wonderfully and used lovely colors, too.
|
I lvoe pastel colours, I could try making you an avi dys if yiu'd like? a pastelly one?
|
D: I don't own many pastel items, and I can't afford to buy a new avatar atm. I spent all my money during the event...
Thanks so much for offering tho! <33 |
@Dystopia
Oh my, that's so sweet of you! I've been a bit more casual about making them lately, and wanted to start exploring the use of background items without an avatar. I've seen some really gorgeous and clever ones lately! There's a user, I think their name is...sleepy clouds, I think, and it's a funny avatar. At least, I think it is. And the way your avatar is layered right now is super pretty! I just love the castle in the background. @Eastriel How lucky to remember those things! I was better at it as a kid with phone numbers. Before cell phones were so common, I could punch in dozens of phone numbers of friends off the top of my head. Sometimes I'll use a little hand gesture to remember a name. Earlier this year I was at another dinner party, and was so caught up with cooking and meeting a line of new guests, that I thrust out my hand and said "I'm [name], it's nice to meet you," to a girl that I have met dozens of times. Ah, how embarrassing! |
jupiter; bwaha the days of home phones yup, i could dial most of mine too!
;-; |
Oh, CloudDreamer? I love their avatar, too. I think its really clever! xD;;
I'm not very good at baseless avatars. :c. But I've seen some very clever ones! Thank you! I'm satisfied with the background, but I don't know what to do for the avatar itself. :c. |
neller and bsw are good at baseless avis
|
D: I haven't seen them around very much. BSW is very good at working with multiple colors and unusual colors, tho, I know that much!
|
me and bsw are really good firneds I help her with avi's sometimes and i've even had the honour of seeing her wear some of my designs too xD
|
@Eastriel
The days of landlines and payphones. And when those portable phones came out, the quality was still pretty poor, but being able to walk more than the cord-length was something to rave about. @Dystopia Yes, that's the one. It has that cute little sleepy emote, too. I think baseless avatars are still fairly novel, and most of our inventories are probably full of actual avatar-equip items, so it's a little tough to work around. I love that crescent moon from a Celes Paradi event, but...it's not solid, and you have an avatar outline. T__T Ooh, perhaps a contrasting color? |
jupiter; the days of my nokia 32 10 were the best. That thing didn't die...
|
That's what I heard! I didn't get a cellphone until years after all of my friends had them. I had this free slide phone with a keyboard; I felt like a spy because it was so high-tech to me. Pretty sturdy, too, but I don't remember the brand.
|
ITS A DREAMING CLOUD. GEDDIT. /ispunted.
:c Yeah, I've noticed that a lot of items have an avatar-base cut out of it. That's why I gave up on making them- I got frustrated! |
Linapoo made a cute avatar edit with a mermaid tail, rock perch, and some luscious hair. It'd be great if it became an item, because it's just a nice change...
Ahah hah, I get it. It's why I think it's so funny. And the cutouts are a little....lame, for lack of a better term, but hey. |
jupiter: ahaha I totally know the feeling my dad has a motorola razr and I was amazed.
i think anything that flips up had an element of spy to it. I felt it when i got my gameboy sp xD |
:o Really? Where is it?
|
OH! I remember hearing about the SP and thinking that technology could go no further! What do you mean you don't have to buy batteries?! AND it has a lit-up screen?!
I saw someone not too long ago with a razor phone. Kind of like a blast from the past. Phones then were so sturdy and reliable... @Dystopia In her workroom, the pixel workroom subforum. |
Thanks! Imma go check it out right now~
|
jupiter; my god yes, that light up screen saved the eyesight of many children.
|
omg.
LINA'S MERMAID HAIR AND TAIL. I MUST HAVE IT. |

If I can find the link to it, I'll post it...Or post the image, because that would certainly be smarter, no? @Eastriel Saved at the expense of sleep! No longer did the night deter you from playing through that dungeon. And such a cute little square. |
I remeber ym first gameboy had an atachment that was a magnifying glass with a light :P
mermaids? what about mermaids! ---------- Post added 12-31-2014 at 11:54 AM ---------- just need to eat lunch! I'll be right back pretty people! |
;___; Its so beautifulll.
|
And even that was battery-powered. If you couldn't figure out how to get through a part of the game, you had to go find a guidebook, if one existed. Oh! And when they finally made it so you didn't have to use a handful of cords to connect to another player!
Mermaids are really pretty.~ One of my favorite stories is The Little Mermaid. I found some lovely versions of the story on youtube; one is Russian and the art is gorgeous! @Dystopia Oh, isn't it just? |
