You can dual boot or whatever its called.
But it is possible to have both linux and windows on a pc
i'm under the impression it can be difficult to set up tho

I've only had one old laptop that had Linux and all I had on it o.C and gimp (tiny little art programs) but they seemed to run fine with nothing extra needed
