Scary poems and rhymes.

:yumeh2: Place to post any grim halloween-sounding rhymes you know. Please oh please no risque poems. :yumeh2:

to start:
Oh, the thirsty freshman,
he isn't any more,
for what he thought was H2O
Was H2SO4!

Halloween, Halloween
Fell the fear!
see how the holiday is
growing near!`

I would so suggest looking up Edgar Allen Poe's poems.
Those are some creepy creations.
<333
Here, I'll post one.

Quote:

The Raven
Edgar Allan Poe
Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.

what about that poem about seeing a hearse go by and you being the next to die?

my gramp used to sing it to us, at halloween, he never told me the name of it though.

To continue "The Raven"

Quote:

Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December,
And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor.
Eagerly I wished the morrow; - vainly I had sought to borrow
From my books surcease of sorrow - sorrow for the lost Lenore -
For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels named Lenore -
Nameless here for evermore.

Robard 11-07-2009 03:32 PM

Oh, the one I was going to start "reciting" was Ulalume.

But to continue The Raven:

Here's a tame Halloween limerick, courtesy of the internets:

Nanette the near-sighted ghost
was frequently witnessed to boast
that her spectral sneer
froze mortals with fear.
In fact, she was haunting a post.

XDXD
I remember reading one of his poems/short stories in English class my 10th grade year.
XD
Something with a heart in the floor bored? I can't quite remember the sequence of things, but I belive the man was dieing and what not.

Poor Poe had a harsh life as well.

The freshman poem?
H2O - water
H2SO4 - a very powerful acid. :P

The Tell-Tale Heart? As I recall it's about a murderer being driven crazy by guilt. Good story to read aloud. =)

Yeah!!!
-rejoices-
I even asked my die hard poe fan of a boyfriend and he couldn't even think of it.
