Hmm, the book is called, The cosmic serpent, DNA and the origins of knowledge. It's an anthropological view of the south american shamans and their use of halucinogenic drugs that supposedly give them the "origins of knowledge"

They're really good, in my opinion.

Or Frank Peretti, his books are good. My fav. is "The Oath"

Oh. Well, it's a three or four book saga? (kinda like Twilight, the book number, not the storyline). I've read the online chapter preview of it, it's very well written. And interesting. I love Tigers, so, I got hooked and I want to get the set. lol
