New Vegas takes place in the area around Las Vegas, and Fallout 3 takes place around washington Dc. :P

It almost always goes on sale during steam sales, along with fallout 3. :3
Both usually come with all the DLC.

...And probably look up on a lot of websites to figure out the whole series' storyline, since the courier from New Vegas is supposedly the descendent of the Vault Dweller from Fallout 3 or something like that?

Since Morrowind goes on to Oblivion and then to Skyrim...Skyrim is a bit more separate storyline-wise to the whole series, there being a 200 year gap in between, but Morrowind and Oblivion seem to go more hand in hand.
