As a note, they aren't even really squid. They don't have an ink sac. So they're actually like...pre-squid cephalopods. They're living fossils, which is awesome. Most of my favorite animals are living fossils. Except dogs, which are absurdly changed from their ancestors.

They're deep pelagic creatures. Which means they're generally more awesome. I have an undying love for all of the deep sea creatures.
