The only one I really want is the hallowed ground, and that's only because it's a background.

Walking hurts my toe quite a bit. [cry]

Its nice. I thought it'd be great for my avatar, but it didn't layer well.

Overall, the commons are better this time around.

I like the commons too. I want all the cape dresses.

All the EIs are outrageously priced for what they are.
|
I know Mene's short on money. But I wish they could at least afford to have Wishie make all the rare items. CIs and EIs.

HIM... likes them..?
likes... or doesn't mind them? *shudders* |
Agreed. Sometimes its a little hard to make avatars 'cause each pixelist has a different style.
|
Or at least give some people a change to become a unpaid pixel artist so they can build up their portfolio.

Hello Bill

o___o How about no. Its really crappy to ask an artist to work for you for free for "exposure" or "experience". It just means, "I can't afford you, but I want you to work for me anyways." Its just very degrading and insulting to the value of their work.
If you're talking about letting volunteers contribute- They already do? |

I wish I could help Make CI's.
Buuuut I need more practice. |

It's also a HUGE problem in the art community. People have no respect for artists and expect to just get work for free out of them. If Mene EVER pulls this crap, I'll quit. |
Dystopia, I do wonder sometimes about your strong opinions on certain things and how you apply it to other areas of life, say volunteer work. Because that would mean I, who have a certain skill, get paid a certain amount of money to do that job, then get asked by a nonprofit to share my knowledge and experience for free, I should tell them to suck it?
Interview was a bust, going to keep looking. |
unfortunately, in the design/art world "exposure" and "experience" is what a lot of people do. not saying it's right but sometimes it IS a way to get both exposure and experience because we have no choice.
|
well i am finally back! what are we talking about?

Volunteering is completely different. What were referring to is someone pretty much outright saying they won't pay you but you'll be doing for it exposure/to see if they want to hire you/Insert Moron Logic.
Aaand the other problem: Artists who don't know any better falling for it. If it's not right, why accept it? It just encourages it to continue happening. |

And for the record, I don't believe people should work for free, but volunteering is a whole other animal.
