Yeah, his name basically means 'flight of/from death' in French.

Oh yeah, didn't he look everywhere for a means of immortality? It was also the storyline for the Mummy 3...
Thanks! I'll probably take it off later again to go back to my nakedness.
He's the first emperor of China, the one who made regulations about how wide a cart should be, and unified China through the use of a single written language.
Oh goodie.
However the moment you change into something less cold, I will then abduct your soul! Muahahahaha!

Back in the ancient times before 秦始皇 came along, yeah. China was basically a scatter of tribes and colonies, much like Europe.

Most of the emperors were notorious in not wanting to see any slander on their name, even if it's true. XD It got to the point where people weren't even allowed to use the emperor's name in text anymore, hence why they all have a whole bunch of different names and stuff and giving us descendants a shit of a time trying to memorize them all for our history and Chinese classes. -____-

Some do. My history's too crappy to know which ones, but they totally had their own written language. 秦始皇 stamped them all out and replaced it with one language which helped unify his kingdom.

Ooh. Never knew Hitler burnt books/killed scholars too, I guess tyrants all have their things in common.

Yeah. Just about everyone who managed to make their way into a history book of some sort has like a minimum of three different names; their given name from their parents, the name that they picked themselves, and the name that other people gave them. -.-
