We went go karting last year and it was so much fun, I'd love to do it at a better place and with better karts. But we can't even spend the money on that, let alone actually getting into the racing.

All I can think about is the Bob's Burger episode where the kids get into it, and Louise turns the bumper car into a racing kart. I don't know why it amuses me so much.

That's... Pretty much what it's like. You start with something cheap, then 5 years later you have 4 top of the line karts and lots of money sunk into it. God damn, is it good fun though.

So pretty much like any hobby, you start cheap and eventually you've spent so much money and time you're not sure where to go, but you can't stop because the money and time, but the money and time makes it hard to continue. :o

How do you even get into something like that?

Dad raced bigger cars on dirt. We could do karts from younger, so we looked into it. Kinda got in, never got out.
