Narrative: When one is building numerous inventions on a daily basis, one has to have an endless supply of usable items to make them. After all, materials don't come cheap! That is, unless you go looking for them yourselves in the darkest of places!

So what is a cheap inventor to do? Well, go to the depths of ruined cities in hopes of finding unique scraps - to find the diamonds in the rough amongst all the rubble destroyed long ago. And so, with a trusty lantern in one hand and her special night-vision goggles in another, it's time to brave the creepy nights to wander outside the safe city grounds in order to get even one single jewel amongst the rough.

Hopefully no other inventor is as crazy as this one is though! Otherwise, all the good parts will be gone by then!

These I believe are called Pink Chimes. I don't know much about them, since I'm horrible with these sorts of things, but I remember them (or something similar) growing at my grandmother's house. This was about 20 years ago, so forgive me if my memory is a bit rough.

Everyone's entries are soooo lovely, I don't know how Sizzla is going to decide on the winners. :)

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can cover the remaining portion of my avi's head? It has to be something in black or purple that ties into what she is wearing now. I have searched the shops for something and cannot seem to come up with anything.

The black eye patch covers the wrong eye and the purple wadget makeup looks out of place, and neither really covers up much of the face. The moon mask has too much red in it. It can't be a hat that removes the hair because the hair is both essential to what I'm working on and because it ends up revealing more of the face by adding the hat/helmet.

Another great avi fizi. I really adored your last one though, it was awesome!!

Awww thanks, Roachi! I have been having a lot of fun lately coming up with new avi's. :)

Well they've been great. This one reminds me of midnight! :)
I needa get in my entries for this contest too. I'll hopefully be more inspired this weekend. Haven't been feeling the best lately.

What profession you are representing: Gardener - Quite literally so, because gardening with all that steampunk metal clothing and all will seriously not help a gardener at all! =O Someone has to be able to run around and water all the plants before the sun goes down, and you have to be comfortably dressed to do so~ >;P <3<3

Narrative: In a time when EVIL was afoot... In a time where you could buy enough whirligigs to power your Steampunk cellular device for the next two minutes (hey! it was a big deal back then! :illgetu: )... In a time much unlike our own, and instead more like the time of that person in the place with the hair and the shirt... -cues dramatic music-
... There lived a Saboteur named Mercedes who had a certain 1980s flare about her. She walked like an Egyptian, partied like it was 1999, and was a girl that just wanted to have fun. Since she wasn't like the other girls, she had trouble fitting in, and was often teased on their lunch break. They told her that her scrunchies were ridiculous, and her teased hair just downright wrong. It all continued... Until one day! Suddenly, it was the 1980s! And other girls were being named after her - well, okay, maybe not her... Mercedes was also a popular car company. But that wasn't the point! Being the rusty Steampunk Saboteur she was, Mercedes led a colorful life - although the years had taken a toll on her, and she no longer looked young and shiny as the other bronze 'n steel Steampunks. Soon she found herself once more at the butt of all of the jokes... And since she was sick of it, she ran away to Narnia. Um, wait, no! I mean, she ran away to Menewsha. And there she became an exotic dancer by day, and a pasta machine by night - it turned out that some of the crappy outdated technology she was made with was also capable of making penne pasta... Although it was a bit slick with oil and rust when it was produced.
Mercedes lived a long and glorious life, up until the invention of not-so-plastic surgery. Suddenly it was all the rage for contraptions like her to get Botox injected into their rusted parts, and to also have a little girl in ruby slippers follow them around with an oil can. Seeing as how she had a solid 401k from her days as a Saboteur, she didn't see what was so wrong with a little work every now and again. Then again, she did start to be called the Steampunk Joan Rivers, but she represses that memory with the help of her newly-diagnosed Dementia, so it's all good!
Needless to say, she lived happily ever after in a state of delusion and constant paranoia. The end!
