There will be three categories this time around: Flower-themed avatars (must be based on a real flower), Steampunk avatars and Profession avatars (Engineer, Gardener or Saboteur).

Hey guys! I'm Sizzla, and most of you have probably seen me around the forums at some point or another. I've hosted most of the avatar contests during our events now, and it seems that this time I'm at it again. I'm looking forward to seeing all of your wonderful outfits!

Helpful hints from Sizzla:
I don't really have any particular hints this time around, but just make sure you post a reference picture along with your flower-themed avatars. :D

Hey folks:) You may have seen me on such shows as "Beavis and Butthead" and MTV's "Daria". Now, I make my happy little home here on Menewsha, bring sarcasm and humor to all it's good little girls and boys. I am really looking forward to seeing what you all come up with!

Helpful hints from Daria:
Be creative! Originality goes a long way with me. Above all else, have fun!

Read the rules and follow 'em. That's all I ask! XD Make sure you read them all too, because there may be something in the rules that's necessary for your entry... ;)

• First and foremost, make sure you follow the Site Rules.
• Be respectful! Constructive criticism is fine, but please don't be rude to other entrants.
  
• You can only enter once in each of the categories, and you may not enter on a mule account. If you do try to enter on a mule, we'll know, so just don't bother. XD
  
• Please be sure to use the entry form when you post your entry. Failure to post the form will result in your avatar not being entered into the contest.
• You may use your own inventory and the Menewsha Avatar Creator to make your outfits.
• Please be sure to save your entry to an outside image host like Photobucket or imageshack. What we see is what we'll judge, so be sure that the avatar you enter is saved and won't change.
• If you want to change your entry, you may edit your submission up until it is posted on the front page. Once it is posted on the front page, you'll have to PM Daria if you want to change anything.
  
• Entries must be submitted by June 4, 2010 at NOON CST. Click here to find out what time it is in Central Time Zone right now! Winners will be announced in the Community Discussion forum shortly after the event ends.

We'll choose first, second, and third place winners in each of the categories. Other prizes might be added as the event goes on, depending on the amount of entries received.

Prizes are as follows:
First place: 5,000g
Second place: 3,000g
Third place: 1,000g

Entries in this category should look like a flower found in nature (or in a garden). All entries must be submitted with a reference photo of the flower you're dressing as.

Narrative: This is Elizabeθ Buckley, Theta for short. She is the daughter of the High Ergaleomancer to the Queen. What is that long word that starts with e? An ergaleomancer is a sort of magician, the clockwork-maker that makes little machines that actually come -alive-. Clockworks are those silly little metal things that make the steam punk genre fun and funny at times. She lives in the pseudo-Victorian England of the steam punk genre; the corset, shirt (which is actually two shirts layered), belts, background, and colour scheme in general all tie in with that idea I think. (Actually the everything does, but I mean those don't have quite as much of a tale behind them.)

She's wearing armour to protect her from the reason she now has to use a cane--when clockworks go wrong, they can explode. One of the first clockworks she ever built was sitting near her leg when it went tick tick tick tick boom and exploded and took out her knee. It's why she wears those unusual pants that not many people do--they puff out near the knees, hiding the machine that replaced her knee so that she can continue to walk and stand. Since then, she's been a lot more careful about testing her clockworks before letting them run loose.

The glasses are very important to her as an ergaleomancer, since the magnifier is necessary when she does really detailed work. Her pocket watch is actually a very important clockwork, her father made it for her to act as a chaperone. His name Cogitabulus T. Buckley, and while he may look like an ordinary pocket watch most of the time, if Theta is in trouble he will speak up quickly to diffuse the situation. Or to reprimand Theta, if it's her own fault.

The most important thing about her outfit, and surprising in its simplicity really, is actually the fact that she wears a tophat and cravat. Even in a pseudo-Victorian England, wearing trousers is usually reserved for the men. Adding a man's hat and cravat to that is to essentially fly in the face of established gender roles, and something that she can only do because she -is- an Ergaleomancer.

I used to have morning glories blooming wild in my front yard and they like to snake out into the grass. I used to picked them when I was little and swirl them around upside down because I thought it looked like a flowy skirt, so that's what I decided to aim for. XD
