Question number six!

One of the fastest rates of industrialization in history occurred in the late 20th century across four countries known as "the Asian Tigers." Can you name all four of these countries?

Zweres 05-31-2010 09:28 PM

Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan

Cherry Who? 05-31-2010 09:28 PM

You got it, Zwe!

Silver Magi 05-31-2010 09:28 PM

Aaaagh, I'm not fast enough. :gonk:

Congrats, though, Zwe! 8D

Seventh question! Including this one, there are only two left, so look lively! Also, read the question carefully.

A scoop wheel (or "scoopwheel pump") is similar in construction to a water wheel, but works in a different manner and performs a different function. Can you describe the difference between the two?

Silver Magi 05-31-2010 09:31 PM

A scoop wheel is engine driven, and was used for drainage and scooping silt

Arikana 05-31-2010 09:31 PM

water wheel converts water to energy

scoop wheel lifts water for land drainage

a waterwheel is water-powered and used to drive machinery, a scoop wheel is engine-driven and is used to lift water from one level to another. Principally used for land drainage, early scoop wheels were wind-driven[1] but later steam-powered beam engines were used.[2] It can be regarded as a form of pump.

Uhh

Cherry Who? 05-31-2010 09:31 PM

That explains what a scoop wheel does, but not the difference. :)

EDIT: Hold on, more answers popped up, lemme read. xD

I'm gonna give the win on this one to Arikana.

Arikana 05-31-2010 09:32 PM

*waits for Cherry's verdict* >w<;

Iltu 05-31-2010 09:33 PM

*cheers for Ari* C:

I'm so slow at this. XD

Arikana 05-31-2010 09:33 PM

Gah.. why is Team Sprocket's machine hp so damn low? DX

Thanks, Iltu!

Cherry Who? 05-31-2010 09:33 PM

Arikana got the full answer first, meaning she is now tied with Zwe at 9 points each, with Silver having 3.
