Because people don't like going out of their comfort zone. And I love Pocky.

Apparently in Japan they have different flavored Kit Kats. According to the NPR people who tried them out a lot of them tasted funny, but some were delicious.

I love trying new things! I recently had calamari. It's kind of like shrimp, if it were a little tougher.

I want calamari. :drool: It sounds so yummy.

If I were to break out a box of pocky (we won't ask where I got it, I have no clue) at school... most kids would freak out and think it was squid guts.

Clair: Because people are afraid of what's different, it's a weird old instinct that evolution somehow didn't see necisarry to remove (don't ask me why, 'cause it's really stupid)

trying new things can be fun. I've never had pocky before. i think i only found a plain flavored one around here once.

Clair: Yeah, the thing was, we had that fear because it made us more aware of enemy tribes... but since we're not tribal people anymore... there's not really the same reason, and we have tons of better means for surviving now

Most sushi Clair has has been cooked before, but is prepared so it still seems raw. :)

That's not good. Smelling raw fish is NEVER a good sign. Good thing you don't eat it. Most fish is supposed to be scentless unless it's gone bad.

Sora was sooooo disappointed T3T

I love japanese food, especially Yakiniku style restaurants where you order the raw meat and vegetables and cook them yourselves at the table. It keeps even the most fidgety and OCD people busy, and the food is ultra delicious. Even in Japan people go out to eat sushi maybe once a month? I really dislike the stereotype that Japanese Food absolutely must == Sushi. There's so much more... the different types of noodles... whole restaurants dedicated to serving bowls of Ramen bigger than your head, and then the cute little maid cafes that serve tea and cakes by cute gothic lolita girls... so much more to Japanese food than sushi. Bento boxes are my favourite.

I would really like to try miso someday. It sounds delicious, but most of what you find around here is Greek food...

Oriental food is Sora's 2nd favorite type of food............when it's cooked anyways XDD

My husband lives in Okinawa, I hope to move there soon.
