I like to make banana bread with lots of crunchy nuts in it, and dried fruit too if I have any. I made some with mango in it once and it was rather delicious!
|
I love banana bread. :)
It's been a while since I had some. |
Interesting, does Mr. Mayor like to cook? Or is it just that fresh tweaked bread tastes better to Mr. Mayor? o.o
|
I have never had banana bread with mango, but that does sound amazing!
Hello, Diamond and Siri! |
Hello Cica, how are you? =3
Hello Siri, I too think it sounds like something I should try one day X3 |
I'm okay, Diamond. All this food talk reminds me that I should go eat lunch soon, though! XD How are you?
|
The last time I had banana bread, I was driving my cousins back to college. One of them made banana bread for a contest and it smelled so nice in the car that we couldn't resist eating some of it. But then we were so thirsty and had nothing to drink in the car--and college was three hours away! xD;;
To make things worse, it started raining so all we could think about was water. D: |
Yes, I love to cook. I'm more of a savories man, but a bit of simple baking is nice too. I do tend to leave the fancy baking to Vicktoria though, as she's so much better at it than me. *laughs*
|
@Cica Lunch? o.o ^^; Just had my dinner, live in Holland so that might explain a few (if not a lot) things =P
@ Siri Ouch, sounds like bread to me. Eat it in the car and fear the water-less consequences.. |
@Mr. Mayor: Yup, Vicky makes wonderful cookies.
I'd love to try some of your banana bread though. x) |
@Mr. Mayor The funny thing was when that post showed up, your siggy with the nephily kiss too, and I couldn't help but giggle at the savories-man part :P
And what simple kind of savories does Mr. Mayor like to cook? |
Diamond: It's nearly 1:30 my time. Time zones... :)
Siri: Oh, torture! And not just bread, but sweet bread. I'm betting that Mr. Mayor is a master at the grill... :) |
You think so Cica..? Poor me, I'm a vegetarian ^^; I'd need to hide myself, for I might just not be able to control myself... Or visit vicky for some cookies <3
|
Diamond: Well, he's a politician, isn't he? Certainly mastering the grill is an important part of public relations. ;) (But veggie burgers can be grilled as well, right?)
|
Oh, I could never be a vegetarian. We had a bbq yesterday and the steak and chicken were so good.
|
^^; People say they can't way too fast... Just say you won't or don't want to is enough o.o
@Siri I'll remember when Mr. Mayor shows mene his grilling skills if he has them ;P Better ^-^ |
You know, I think I could be a vegetarian, though I'd miss eating fish. But I'd much rather pursue localvorism, and in my climate, a balanced local diet would almost have to include meat.
|
Oh, the one thing I don't like is fish. I hate seafood.
For some reason, it just grosses me out. |
Well I don't know the american word for a vegetarian who does not eat fish, considering I do (only the fish who aren't bred though...) And I do eat products from animals, though I do only eat t when I know the animals actually had space to theirselves =D
|
*laughs* My cooking can get a bit fancy sometimes, depends entirely on how much I can be bothered
I'll admit that I take perverse enjoyment from hosted a "dinner party" for visiting dignitaries and doing all the cooking myself, giving them nothing fancy and making them eat out in the garden. I don't approve of the sense of self-importance that some people have just because they're a politician or nobility... |
I hate the American food system. Has anyone seen Food Inc?
I know a lot of people say it's just propaganda, but I worked at a dairy farm and can vouch for the film. It's very accurate. |
No I didn't, but I heard about it in Oprah, the interview with alicia keys o.o
|
Diamond, I guess some vegetarians do eat fish, though fish are animals, and their flesh is muscle. I just assume vegetarians don't eat fish or other meat at all. Vegans take it a step further, and don't eat animal products of any sort, even including things like honey!
Mr. Mayor, I didn't mean to imply that you were self-important, but the fact is, you do mingle with us folk! :) Which we like. Tradition suggests, therefore, that you'd be good with a grill. Maybe that is an American thing, though. |
It's absolutely awful. I wouldn't mind paying more for food if it meant that the animals were treated decently.
Everyone has there own opinions, but I think more space will make them healthier. Yes, it'll help spread disease and more fighting will happen, but the majority of the animals will still be happier and healthier. |
You have improper food production practices in your world? What a shame. One of the things that I simply adore about island life is that we're as self-sufficient as possible (I insist upon it!) and we certainly don't employ any unpleasant methods to gain produce.
