Now now now, Princess, it's not for my sake, but for your sake as royalty. When you hold a high position, and people give you things, you should always make a sincere effort to thank them, because nothing is trivial, and it will be more likely they will support and help you in the future.

Kinny- I can tell you a story, but it's going to be a little creepy, because those are my favourite kind of stories. Are you okay with that?

I'll tell you both one of my favourite stories, because it just might be true. It has to do with two best friends, a shiny red bicycle, and a friendship that goes beyond the grave.

Mike and Ricky were two boys, maybe about 9 or 10 years each. They were best friends, hung out all the time, and loved to race their bicycles in the huge local park. Ricky's bicycle was a perfect shiny red speed machine. They raced to a bridge that was over a trickling stream, but once every now and then the dam had to be released so a huge torrent of water would suddenly flood the stream. After completing a race and chattering happily, the rotten wodden board that passed for the railing fell off with the slightest breeze, and Ricky's perfect bicycle fell, then Ricky himself. Mike grabbed ahold of him, telling him to hold on. He tried his hardest, gritted his teeth, and strained his muscles, but all he ended up with was Ricky's backpack in his hand, and Ricky fell to his DEATH, and his body and bicycle were never found...

This memory came back as a dream that haunted Mike again, and again over the years, and many nights he would wake up screaming Ricky's name, in a sweat, hoping that just this time, he could save him...

Mike's nightmares woke up his little brother one night when he was in high school. His parents noticed that he was about to fall asleep face-first in his bowl of cereal. His little brother spilled the beans taht he had 'another nightmare' last night... But of course as parents usually do they offer the same old tired advice, "You have to stop blaming yourself for Ricky's death!"

On his way to first period, Mike was walking with his classmate and he stopped. The shiny red trademark bicycle in the rack. His friend asked if he was okay, "Did you see?!" Mike pointed, but instead was just your lame, out of the ordinary bike. Maybe dillusional from lack of sleep, he shook it off and said nothing.

Things continued to go downhill in history class. Mike was out of it, and as the teacher was talking about the first men sent to the moon, she had to bring Mike down to Earth. "Ground Control to Mister Buckley. Were you paying attention?" "Yes ma'am" he answered, "Then what were we talking about?" "Uhhh...." "Well we're not covering 'uhhh' until next semester..." as if being embarassed wasn't bad enough, he actually saw the ghost of Ricky in the doorway to his classroom whispering his name. He stood up, turning over his desk and sending hsi books and binders flying. Cowering in a corner surrounded by half the class and the teacher, he kept repeating Ricky's name.

This resulted in his being sent to the school nurse, who after taking his temperature and blood pressure couldn't help but ask, "Who's Ricky?"

"He was a friend" Mike answered the School Nurse. "Did you two have a fight?" she inquires. "He was my friend! He's dead." The nurse proved to be a bit more helpful than his parents at least in terms of her advice. She gave him an ice pack and constantly had to remind him to keep it on. "Do you still have a hard time with his death?" "I keep having nightmares, I think that this time I can save him!" "But even when the dream turns out right it won't change the fact that he's dead."

Then Mike slips up, "But I saw him today." "What?!" the nurse becomes more serious. I'm going to let you go home early today, I think you're seeing things due to lack of sleep. Peeking out the blinds he saw Ricky and the Bicycle standing there. First his friend disappeared, then the bicycle. "It's him!" he turned to the nurse to try to show her, but instead of the adult woman reading his file, it was Ricky! Mike then went into shock.

His father picked him up and took him to see a doctor, it turns out he was to be bedbound for at least a week, and would miss the first day of fishing season... but that's what happens when you go into shock at the school nurse's station and won't stop raving about your dead best friend...
