Um actually the last time I spoke to you was in the broke hearts valentines hangout thread, which was last February! :O Because I was the nurse sticking band-aids on everyone ^^

Anyone have a vote on what I should change the sci-fi "Book of the Day" to tomorrow?
I've got some ideas, but it's more fun if other people contribute too.

Ummm, I really don't know much of sci-fi... Although I do love the Time series by Madeleine L'Engle. Is that considered sci-fi? O.o

Ooo, sure, that's science fiction.

I loved the book Many Waters in that series. It's by far my favorite.

Yay, I love Many Waters as well. ^^ But I really need to reread the whole series, it's been sooo long. Dx I can't even remember which I like best. And I still have yet to read An Acceptable Time.

I'm gonna say Perdido Street Station by China Miéville - it's a nice mix of sci-fi/ fantasy and it is of the gritty almost steampunk dark fantasy variety

It's a really long book (as a paperback it was over 600 pages long!) - but well worth it (I think) - but I really like China Miéville

Read a lot of dystopic science fiction in my time...I've loved Jurassic Park. What a great novel! I know I should read more interesting sci fi but it's hard to catch my interest.

Also, Knerd, LOVE the XKCD sig. Especially that strip, it was too funny. :D

I would put my vote on The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin. (:

1984 will always be one of the best.

And I used to love the Dragons of Pern series, but it's been forever since I've read any of them.

I felt that Todd never should have picked up writing the series, I started reading the first one he had put out and it was not Pern

I always want to do this and I always forget to keep track of the books I read in a year. Haha, maybe I'll start keeping track this summer when I know I will be reading a lot more than I am now.

Also, I think my favorite sci-fi books were ones from when I was a teen. I wish I could remember the name because I'd totally read them again.

I loved 1984, btw. <3

One of them was a boy who ended up with a clone. And it had a lot about an ocean hideout so no one would find out about the clone. The other was a time machine related one but I don't remember any more than that, haha. They were from way back in the day. D:

I did that with a vampire book I loved, too. Forgot the title AND author.

Oh! Tom Clancy's net force series is kind of sci-fi...I remember loving them as a child.

Cami: I love the Dragonriders' series, though I have to agree with Gypsea...Should have let the series end before getting a new author...

I'm not a huge fan of sci-fi and fantasy. But I really loved Slaughterhouse Five, Fahrenheit 451, and Ender's Game. Oh, and of course Harry Potter. I am reading a comical fantasy right now called Once Upon a Marigold, which is actually pretty cool and easy to read.
