I don't think there is a way to exchange flowers or spanners for seeds or credits.

You don't Only thing that can be turned in for credit are seeds. The Spanners (wrenches) are for sabotaging the other teams machine. Which in turn gives you 1/4 a seed or .5 seed during power hour

So how do I do I use them for sabatoging, I can't seem to figure this toolbar thing out.

Click on Sprocket HQ and click the Sabotage link near the bottom of the pop up window.
