I didn't read the descriptions when I picked my job as an engineer.

Well, I suppose I'm done pestering you for now...oh wonderful nemesis-y folk. <3

The carebear part was one of the things that turned me to a different department, actually. There is a running joke about me being half Vulcan - this is partially because of my geekery, partially because of my outward appearance and my family, and partially because...I act the part most of the time. I control my mind well, and am generally not emotional. My thought at the carebear comment was:
"...I doubt I will have anything to discuss here, but as is Menewsha tradition, I will need to talk to earn event currency. *looks to other options*"

Though ironically, this event has left me more open and emotional than I usually am. xD

Then it has been a successful event, despite its unforseen shortcomings.

I could not call them unforeseen. Menewsha events always have some bugs to work out - it is practically tradition.

However, I will admit I was not expecting them to last as long as they have.

That was more what I meant by unforseen. Anything new on any forum is bound to come with a few bugs.
