My favourite song by them would have to be Beautiful Freak. The first time I heard that song it was to a Harley Quinn and Joker music video. Sighhhh. The video itself wasn't that good but the thought of them to that song.. parfait.

So I have to ask, what did you think of my song recommendations? Some of the songs are less known and it makes me happy when a singer that doesn't get a lot of attention gets the praise that they deserve.

And I'm really curious. I also like Fresh Blood [by the Eels], and Cancer for the Cure.. I just like the Eels in general, they're so peculiar and different. <3

Ever heard Ghost Opera by Kamelot?

My next voice recital will include a contemporary piece of my choice. Anything within the past 100 years is fair game, so long as it is something appropriate - nothing sexual or addressing the supernatural (these recitals are held in a church).

However, I am having a very difficult time selecting a song, or even a handful of possible songs.

What sort of song are you looking for? Like.. fast/slow, sad/happy, that kind of stuff.

Things from musicals are always good choices (but I imagine you know that). We could always help you brainstorm.

Have you considered doing a Disney song? I always find them enjoyable with the bonus of being able to sing them well [although that might just be because I know them so well].

I like this, Kamelot. It's really good. And just know that I suck at describing 'good' things, but this is definitely good. It's unique and I love that it's harder but there's still actual music and well 'design' if that makes sense.. it's ten minutes to four [in the morning], if I'm making sense it's a miracle.

Hm. Rereading that, I'm not making sense. By harder I mean in the 'hard rock' sense, not difficult or anything. And design.. I don't even know how to describe that. Blah. Perhaps I should get a coffee.

All the music so far in this thread seems to be quite good. :yes:
I just began listening to Ghost Opera...I love that particular style of music. Actually, symphonic rock is my favorite genre.

I have a rather wide range of what I can handle, vocally - at my last recital, though I do frequently sing as a soprano, I was also the only girl there who could go into the tenor range during warm-ups. It was...interesting.

As far as what I like...though symphonic rock is my favorite, I tend to like near anything that is not modern rap or metal that has so much screaming that you cannot hear the music, neither of which would really be appropriate.

Musicals will already be covered separately.

I'm good! Just found out a way to dump stuff in the HQ way faster. Without having to press that annoying 'back to HQ' button lmao.

Have you considered doing a song by Evanescence? Duffy has a lot of good songs too, if you know who that is.
