what I wouldn't do for late fall :dreams:

Seiki Nova 05-27-2010 07:05 PM

Its 88 out right now, but we're supposed to be getting around 98 later in the day.

And people say that humidity makes a difference (which it does), but everyone's 85-90 with humidity doesn't hold a candle to 115 with baking sun and no moisture at all. You just feel dry and parched all the time and the sun itself hurts DX

xnozomichanx 05-27-2010 07:08 PM

Which is why I won't move south. I'm sensitive to the sun because I'm fair skinned and because of a medicine im taking. oh what i would do for a tan

Lost in Austen 05-27-2010 07:09 PM

Seiki: ah, you have a point there. I've only been to Arizona once, and that was in the spring. It was in the 90s but fairly comfortable, as long as you weren't in the direct sunlight for too long.

There were Kokopellis all over zeh place!! :>

Seiki Nova 05-27-2010 07:12 PM

The sun makes it feel infinitely hotter than it actually is. I can be outside when its 103 in the middle of the day and feel like I'm melting, but when it gets dark and its still 103 outside, its surprisingly pleasant. The sun is an evil creature I tell you!

*strokes imaginary goatee*

Very interesting, Seiki.
But what are your winters like?
I think we win.

xnozomichanx 05-27-2010 07:14 PM

we definitely win with winters

shinigamikarasu 05-27-2010 07:16 PM

Hello everyone.:D

Lost in Austen 05-27-2010 07:17 PM

Nozo? LOL, I'm totally gonna call you Nozo now too.

Seiki Nova 05-27-2010 07:19 PM

Yeah, you guys can keep your winters. Not that I don't like the cold and the snow, but I like my pleasant mid-50s to low-60s.

Lost in Austen 05-27-2010 07:19 PM

Seiki: sounds nice right about now.....

shinigami: ehy, what's up?

what's funny? o.Q?;

shinigamikarasu 05-27-2010 07:20 PM

Snow days are awesome as long as you don't have to make them up later. I remember one year when I was in High School, we had so many that they had to add about four days to the end of the year.

Facade 05-27-2010 07:20 PM

@Nozo: It just sounds funny... Kinda reminds me of Gonzo from The Muppets.

shinigamikarasu 05-27-2010 07:21 PM

Nothing much. Just got back from shopping and getting a few job apps.

Lost in Austen 05-27-2010 07:21 PM

When you're homeschooled, you don't get snow days. :P

Facade 05-27-2010 07:26 PM

Lostin is LAME. :illgetu:
I've always wanted to be homeschooled. :( Or at least to go to a different sort of school, like a charter school, or a sudbury school, or... BAH, I HATE THE CURRENT EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM. :gonk:

-gnaws on Lostin's elbow- You're from Pittsburgh, right? Or somewhere?
We're fellow Pennsylvanians. I always forget that. :P

that has to suck pretty seriously, my sympathies go out to the home schooled during winter

EDIT: well i'm off for now, but have no fear I shall return

shinigamikarasu 05-27-2010 07:29 PM

I have a friend who was mostly home-schooled. She still had to take English at our High School, though. Not sure how that works exactly.

~Sara Lee Cupcake~ 05-27-2010 07:30 PM

hey hey peeps im glad to say that i think my puppy will be fine....but...im so sure about that stupid test :( im not sure i passed at all

Facade 05-27-2010 07:32 PM

I think some states have certain laws regarding homeschooling... As far as parents' own qualifications and whatnot, and whether or not a tutor is involved, blah blah blah...

Also, I know that any kid who's homeschooled that's still "in district" (in other words, in the school district in question) can participate in the school's extracurriculars... Usually, anyway. Not 100% sure if there are certain limitations. But I knew a homeschooled kid that was in our play my sophomore year, and there was a homeschooled girl in our marching band as well.

Lost in Austen 05-27-2010 07:37 PM

Facade: yup. i'm from the 'Burgh.
You're from closer to Philly, right?
You might live near Nozo!!!

I didn't like being homeschooled.
'Twas boring and we had to fill out a log listing the work we did each day... Not to mention making a giant portfolio at the end of the year, to show to a certified teacher for them to approve....

~Sara Lee Cupcake~ 05-27-2010 07:41 PM

well im off peoples....bye
