Why is it that Garbage trucks are always so ridiculously loud? >_<

I can't hear the garbage truck from my room, one its in the basement, two are unit is a little ways away from the garbage bins

Haaaa, lucky. Our walls must be really thin then, because I can hear it and it's really loud and it beeps a lot. ^^;
