I got the flu for the first time in six years this year. I killed it in a day through sheer willpower and a dose of Nyquil, though. I had something very important to me coming up the day after I caught it. I wasn't going to let it ruin my happy times.

I used to drop by all the time last summer, then the school year started and poof there went my time!

I was not certain, but the hats are growing on me.
I think I shall probably wear them quite often!

Oh, that's sad to hear. What sort of work do you do? (More and more, I'm glad I'm still in academia, where we get spring break and memorial day and all that!)

I work in the schools during the schoolyear, this summer I am trying something different and trying home health geriatrics...It should be interesting!

the top hats are not the best ones, the hats that granny is wearing is good though not what I would have put for a captain hat.

I find that the holidays are generally only good for the white collar workers in the offices.

Others tend to have to work.

I actually like the top hats. It's the captains hats that seem weird to me.

Medicare has a 2 day waiting period rule, so that really doesn't allow for 3 day weekends;)

@Anime: Yeah. I had a huge event coming up that was really important to me and a flu was -not- going to get in my way.

@Daria: >.< I know how that feels.

I would like to know because it sounds like something that I may be needing in the future!

I will be going to people's homes who are over 65 helping them get back to being independent after being in the hospital for awhile from an illness. I'll be helping with "daily living skills" like dressing, bathing, how to cook light foods again, that kinda thing...Also upper extremity strengthening and some pain management! It should be fun!
