Since when did people with gardener as their secondary gain the ability to only put 1FP per flower into the machine?

@Mehi: Sure. I've been with the same man for almost nine years now, married almost five, I think. *Loses track*

Sometimes we just cannot be with our elderly parents.
My mother was in North Dakota, and I was in Texas.

We would have loved to have her come live with us, but she did not want to leave her doctors.

So we did the best we could, by finding a wonderful assisted living place, where she was able to transition to nursing home care. She died there, surrounded by very caring people.
At the end, I had stayed with her for a month. My sister and brother were also able to be with her when she died.

I'm a therapist, like a PT only I do hands/arms, etc. PT does walking and legs.

what I was more referring to is the people that dont want to take care of their parents and send them off to a nursing home never to visit. you sound like you did what you both felt was best she was happy and you got to see her in the end.

Hi anime-- yep, done with my eight hour nap.

I've noticed since yesterday that my main profession is only giving two points to the machine when it used to give four :(

That is true.
I do not have any children, only step children, so I often wonder what will become of me when my time comes.

Oh well, I will deal with that later. We have long term care insturance, so I should at least not be a burden to anybody.

I still live at home with my mother and I'm 23. My mom is disabled and can't do many things so it is easier on her with me living at home. If I do ever get myi own place then it is probably going to end up being a double house so that she is still close enough for me to help her while I have my own living area.

It sounds like you have very many children, Daria. Ones that depend on you very much.

Cloud, They changed it so that the machine does not replenish quite so quickly.
I am happy, because it allows me to use my flowers more.

As far as having Gardner being your main profession I am SO grateful they changed the numbers. Before you have to wait till it was at least 4 points below 5000 which it almost never was, so we rarely made any seeds. The people who had gardner as a secondary job could do it when it was only 2 points below 5000 which also made it almost impossible for those of us with it as a main profession to get in before they fixed it.

I am not good with children. My niece and nephew are here and I still don't know what to do with them.

We can't have them, not without the risk of passing on Fragile X (me, possibly) and the malformation of blood vessels my husband carries which has left him permanently disabled and disfigured, and recently caused his brother to fall ill as well.

I like the modifications to the system -- it's more balanced.

LOL, exactly Granny! At the end of the day, I'm WIPED OUT! Not sure I'd have the energy for one at home.

@Cloud, it's wonderful you can help your mom out so.

My grandmother is quite happy living in her nursing home, in fact: we can't get her to move out, lol.

The problem is, though, that people need to stop -forcing- their elders to live in nursing homes against their will.

-------

I'm glad I'm not the only one that isn't too excited about having children. I'm quite happy without having to worry about such a thing. If I ever have them it probably won't be until I'm about thirty. I like kids, but I don't want to dedicate my life to a couple of kids the second I'm out of college (which won't be for eight-twelve years anyway).

Granny-- oh, I was wondering why. But that makes it hard to get back up when it drops so much.

I don't have any kids and I can definitely say I will never have any. That is one thing I know I don't want in my future.

I agree -- forcing older parents to move because you simply don't want to deal with them is one thing; taking them there because you simply can't take care of them is another. I visited my grandmother when I could (I spent several years out of the country when all of my relatives were aging and dying), and it was nice to see her so well cared for.

I may not be good with children but I haven't decided if they will or will not be in my future. When I find someone I want to be with I figure it will be something both of us will have to decide.
