Gypsea, in my high school days I was the queen of plot twists in our robins. If another author handed me one and said "I couldn't really come up with anything." I went all out. Most of my turns ended up being full pages. El (another author in high school) both were like that. Her ideas were the best.

Like Seika was saying, everyone can control any character. That is what I loved about it. If you need this character to do this for the plot you could make them do it. You didn't have to worry about it dying or losing the plot.

In a general nutshell, it's like writing a story but you're taking turns with people. Unlike RPs everyone controls the characters. More detailed in my opinion.

But I understand. Even though RR everyone shares, you generally still end up writing your own characters more than the other person's ones. Or at least from your characters point of view more often. Or at least I do.

I have no problem letting my friend control my characters. They knew Mehi just as well as I knew El's Kitta, or Ash's InYa, or even Bannah's Baby. We all knew each others characters like our own. Makes it easier to let someone control your character when you know they know the character. I should type up one of ours and let you read it, Gypsea. They tend to be very interesting. Oh, wait I do have part of one typed!!

when you have thought of their history and why they act the way they do, some one having your character say something or do something can kill the character. that is why I usually dont play some one else characters even if it is from a TV show or movie

Seika, the lit spot is where the one I have typed is. It is called the Soap Opera and for good reason. Look it up if you want. It is under my main though (mehimaru).

I understand, Gypsea. And you are right. That's why I stick to the regular RP rules here. Although I would love to get back into round robins. I really miss them. *sigh*

Seika, forewarning, the Soap Opera is not normal. You will have to read it to understand. And it is in dialogue format not story format. Bannah likes dialogue format more than story so that is how we wrote it.

@gypsea Ah, yeah I understand. But I guess I'm okay with it? My characters are kinda vague to begin with it. If it's totally out of character, I tell my partner, but overall, I don't mind the real leeway. In some cases it gives me something to think about and sometimes to improve the character.

Though 70% of the time I don't even bother with my preset personal characters, choosing to make new ones for the RP or if I use my personal characters, it's usually only the name, appearance, and general personality. Everything else (history,abilities, morals, reasons, how they would react, etc etc) I try to make it up with the storyline.

@mehi If I get the chance I'll look them up. :D I haven't been in the lit spot since I basically stopped Round Robins. I'll keep that in mind too.

I wish I could explain my friend and my characters to y'all. We do tend to make new characters for some stories, but each one of us as our own individual character. Like Mine is Mehi Tora. That is how I get part of my main avi's name (mehimaru). We have wrote tons of stories using these characters. Gahhhh!!! I miss writing so bad!!!!

Maybe just write your own story? As a side project. Vent any ideas you have but can't use?

Seika, lol. I have a thousand started stories on my computer. It just doesn't feel write without being able to hand it to El and say "your turn." Those were the good days.

the having Ideas is the reason I like to RP that way I can work out my Ideas. I get writers block if I dont have another person working with me.
