I hope I can keep goldfish eventually, but it's quite a project having them indoors in a small one bedroom apartment.
Most people don't realize what size tanks goldfish need indoors. I blame the goldfish bowl myth.
A good sized tank for a pair of goldfish is 55 gal. They are high bioload fish that get on the big size for typical pet fish.

me and my roommate have a betta fish. His name is Demyx

I have two bettas. One called Sherbet who I raised from a egg/fry and one called Citrine.
I've been mostly cutting back on my pet fish because I want the goldfish. I had six tanks running before.
It fills my hobby "slot".
But also I haven't been paying enough attention to them due to my serious pursuit of art, so I needed to cut back over that too.

I have two goldfish in a ten gallon tank. They don't seem to have a problem with it. They are still really small and over a year old. I ish shocked I haven't killed them yet. I has no luck with goldfish.

That will leave them stunted eventually. When their eyes are large for their bodies, they will be stunted.
But considering so many people keep them in bowls, this is an improvement.
You'd have better luck with fish if you picked ones more suitable for your tank size ( or got a larger tank).
Goldfish are simply going to be difficult to keep in a too small tank due to their adult size and their bioload.
They need more water changes then some other fish, something about how they don't have stomachs.

One of the reasons I want goldfish is because they are smart enough to do tricks.
Since I cannot yet have the dog I want, I want a fish that's a bit more interactive.

Hi, how's it going people? I've been busy doing things on other sites and got lost. There are a few things I would like to get at the last minute so, I guess I better get busy.

With a food stick. There's a training kit online and you can find goldfish doing tricks on youtube.
That 3 memory thing is also a myth.
I'm not sure if I will have the patience to do it ( and being heavily involved in being an artist possibly not the time), but I like that they have that potential.

There's a couple of other things I like about goldfish too.
- Mostly vegetarian.
- Colorful.
- Individual.
- Do not require specific conditions other then enough space.
-Long lived.
- Hardy.

I am hoping to fund the entire project with selling old fishy gear eventually. If I don't raise the funds that way, it isn't happening. Don't have the funds otherwise.
