the items you get are random, you'll need to wait until you get some flowers to do anything in your HQ, but you can check the shed links for free stuff.
you can also check out the mission link to do a job which could get you credits for the event store items.

it's... confusing. a lot. ;_;

I also haven't been able to get the free tools?

One of the tool sets you get for free are in the FAQ. There's a link you click and it give you your tool set, depending on which profession you choose.
The other tool sets you get by donating flowers, gears, and spanners to other members. You have to donate 12 of each.

Donating to Team Sprocket members will get you the Team Sprocket tool items. Donating to Team Gasket members will give you the Team Gasket tool items.

its not free though. you can't get it until you have 12 of whatever is your profession item.

I must have had 12 of whatever in order to get my free item and didn't notice. I don't think it takes away those 12 currency items away though when you click on the link, does it?

I have four of the tools so far. you gt the flowers and gears and other thing for posting.

Yup. Three from Sprocket and three from Gasket.
They're the same items, the only differences in them are the item's title names and their is a difference in color because of the team's colors.

Everything except the Seeds, which is what you need to get the event items (rare). The Seeds are gotten by doing Missions, which you can do once, then wait 15 minutes before doing again. Going to the Shed will give you a random chance to get either Gears, Flowers, or Spanners. You get something every time though. Then you wait 15 minutes before doing it again.
