Its a kind of "forbidden love." With a vampire, there's that danger that he might suck you dry. And with the neck being somewhat of an erogenous zone, its like 'I'm having sex with you, but not really having sex with you, and at the same time killing you.' Some people find the appeal in 'turning into a monster,' which I think is fun to write, personally. But at the same time, people try to make the monster sympathetic, which doesn't work for me. I prefer a monster to be a monster, know?
With slaves, its more the fantasy of reliquishing control from yourself. A person feels that they have no control in their life, so they want someone to tell them what to do. (I've studied this. Its creepy.) And some of that goes back to the vampire fascination: you no longer have control. You have a master to tell you what to do. Vampire mind crush and all that.
Though... I do have a bit of a biting fetish. >>
