Yeah. The "sheep" factor doesn't really go away unless the kid is already being raised by knowing parents or they go to a good college or something and get to learn more.

Me too, Zade! They already passed it. Have you not seen the changes they're making to the history curriculum and textbook recommendations?

Haven't seen a change so what is it I missed. I have been out of school for a while now...so what stupid thing have we done this time..lol

They're replacing any teachings of Jefferson with Calvin, completely removing any talk about the separation of church and state. It's totally absurd.

@ Steel... ahh well this should be a nice circus to watch go down. I see no reason that was something prudent to our childrens' education. And it will only cause issues with the less conservative population of the state in the long run. A very bad idea indeed in my personal opinion.

It's because Texas has this weird reactionary political environment.
Basically, our conservatives are liked well enough, but the second they feel threatened, they go insane.

Hrmm. Just a college or a university? (Sorry to pry...I live in College Station which kills me, but my parents live in Lubbock, which makes me happy).
