Ack. The Sprocket machine is taking a beating. I'm out of gears though. T_T

----------

I only had a gas mask when I was awake to have all 4 wisdom teeth removed. Two of those were impacted. Too bad the gas did nothing for me.

Saisei 05-31-2010 08:05 PM

I've never been gassed. Though, I've only been to the dentist, like, 5 times in my life. :)

Chi 05-31-2010 08:05 PM

You've been stabbed and drilled enough. You don't need the gas. :XD *pets*

Saisei 05-31-2010 08:06 PM

I'm a tough m-effer, too :)

Chi 05-31-2010 08:06 PM

I'm not. ;(

Jennifer 05-31-2010 08:06 PM

Must have perfect teeth, Kin?

Ah yeah! I didn't get a mask when I had all of my wisdom teeth removed. They put the numbing stuff in through IV. Totally got knocked out. ...was nice to wake up and see the cute dental assistants face. ;)

Chi 05-31-2010 08:07 PM

I was wide awake and fully alert during mine. :XD It sucked.

Saisei 05-31-2010 08:07 PM

Nah, but not going for a span of 15-ish years tends to make them work a little harder on you when you go back. :)

----------

*grumble* 5 mins left on my power hour.

Izumi 05-31-2010 08:09 PM

Jen - I need to go to your dentist! They sound like they rock. :XD

Ok, Chi, Wisdom teeth I have a little more empathy. I heard they HURT when getting extracted. I've had a tooth pulled and I've had my fair share of cavities. I am the weird one though who usually has her eyes open throughout the whole thing and I'm watching their every movement.

I love watching them work on other people too.

Chi 05-31-2010 08:10 PM

I guess I have to ask...

In your dentistry, what does "gas" imply? On my end it was a fruity-scented air that was meant to relax me. It wasn't meant to take pain away. It ended up not working at all.

Saisei 05-31-2010 08:10 PM

Ah, so you're just a sadist. :)

Izumi 05-31-2010 08:13 PM

Nitrous Oxide is what they usually give. It gives you a buzz apparently. You're very much awake, just not coherent.

I think they might of given you a placebo then...

Our dentist doesn't do it anymore because of the costs. It isn't a drug persay but the reaction your body gets from trying to treat it like oxygen and the reaction makes you feel a bit loopy.

Chi 05-31-2010 08:13 PM

My power hour is over. I'm gonna get cracking on the take-home work I mentioned before and then make dinner. I'll pop in off and on I reckon. :3

Jennifer 05-31-2010 08:13 PM

I don't really know, Chi. I never had to use the fruity scented mask thing myself. ...or any sort of gas stuff.

One "vampire" tooth of mine had to be removed and replaced with a fake one. I had to wear braces for a few months because I had what is called a "Canine" tooth. It really sucked. Then I just had surgery to correct it.

Izumi 05-31-2010 08:14 PM

Kin - quite possibly. I actually enjoy the pain of gums bleeding. It's a bizarre feeling.

----------

I have a pronounced Canine, Jen, yet the dentists I've gone to never said anything about removing it. Was it just a cosmetic thing or was it making it difficult to eat or talk or something?

Saisei 05-31-2010 08:16 PM

I'm with Chi. I have intro to psych to do.

Jennifer 05-31-2010 08:17 PM

It was so bad that it would put a small hole in my lip/cheek at least several times a year. And it of course would get infected. Plus, when I smiled, it was just ugly. I didn't like smiling! Even though everyone was like, "It kind of makes you unique!" ...yeah, I don't think so.

Izumi 05-31-2010 08:20 PM

Ohhh I did Intro to Psych last semester. I did really well except for the paper. :( I ended up with an A- though. Good luck!

Have fun you two! I'm having fun watching Ellen, oddly.

----------

Jen - yah mine never has done that. It is pointy though and my stepson did point that out to me and I'm like yah I know.

I don't have perfect teeth, but I've seen a lot worse so I'm happy with what I got. I just wish I had this bottom tooth pulled sooner as the adult tooth grew in crooked, but it isn't too bad.

Jennifer 05-31-2010 08:26 PM

One of my molars grew in sideways! Had to have that fixed, too. I went through a lot to get them fixed.

I didn't like when people pointed them out. I still don't like it, even though they look fine. Isn't if funny when you talk to someone about teeth and they start moving their tongue back and forth over their teeth?

Izumi 05-31-2010 08:28 PM

Yep. Or Aaron will start blowing air through his bottom teeth now that he has gaps between them...He seriously had plaque build up so much it was like a wall...

Jennifer 05-31-2010 08:37 PM

Uh, I don't know he'd feel to read that on the forums. :XD

Zayden 05-31-2010 08:40 PM

Hello, everyone. How goes it?

Izumi 05-31-2010 08:40 PM

Pft I already told him I told about the diving accident and his teeth issues. He doesn't really care. He looks really good now and I'm proud of him. :)

Hi Zayden! :)

Zayden 05-31-2010 08:42 PM

Hello, Izumi. ^_^ How's your day/afternoon/night/whatever going for you?

What is that tree item next to you called?

Izumi 05-31-2010 08:44 PM

I'm doing alright. :) Today's weather is icky, but we made the best of it yesterday, so I'm happy.

The tree is part of the CI "Tapio Defender". It comes with a couple tree poses, tribal tattoos and a bow and an arm decoration thingy.
