Do you know what's wrong with it specifically?

Well the internet is due to we finally got our wireless secured and my desktop keeps restarting itself every time I try to connect to it, doesn't even give me a password screen for the wireless. Also a lot of my parts are old, I've had the desktop for more than 3 years with parts getting changed out on occasion. That and I have a few programs that haven't been able to fully get rid of on the computer.

Yeah I wouldn't bother with it either. That's more of a hassle than it's worth.

well what I am moving is what files weren't already on my external hardrive, these are music and image files, but I also need to move a few pdfs and a bootleg file of a program I use a lot. There are a few other things I need to move around like Stepmania files, ROMS (reinstall my emulators too), not sure if I'm going to put a torrent runner on the laptop yet, mean I have what I needed really when I had it working on the desktop.

I need to get an external hard drive. My laptop's almost full. I was a fool to think 250gigs would be enough! :gonk:

Though I think this laptop has 320 Gigs give or take. The hardrive I use is divided into three drives, two are mine and one is my mom's where she has knitting patterns backed up on

Only about 35gigs is music. Then there's 89gigs devoted to video and still growing. The rest is programs, pictures, and Photoshop stuff.

Oh god, I don't really have videos..mainly due to I can't figure out the type my mp3 uses at all or else I would too. My case is mainly images and music, tis why that stuff I keep of the computer as much as I can.

My videos consist of the few anime series that I actually like. Music's more my thing.

Oh the videos like .Avi ?(think that's the one that is rather large, but better than some other formats for videos) Oh god that reminds me I need to install VLC media player cause I've been having issues with winamp for some reason and not sure if it will be better if I did have that running on the laptop if version of Windows Media player does what I need it to do.

Yeah that's the general extension. I have VLC though I also have plugins in WMP that let it play anything I need it to. I just like having back ups just in case.

That's what VLC became when winamp decided to go screwy cause there are somethings I don't want WMP to be used.

Only reason I kinda recalled that for the extension was due to another friend has a really bogged down computer due to the same thing of a lot of anime.

My laptop still works like new despite all the crap on it. I love this thing.

what OS does it run on?

Surprisingly, Vista.

wow, I'm running on windows 7, I was kinda expecting Vista due to my mom's desktop that is upstairs is a Vista, but no she bought two windows 7 laptops, one to replace the communal/her laptop and the other well grad present(me) as I've already said about mine.

My friend got a new laptop a few months ago with Windows 7 on it. As far as I know, he hasn't had any problems with it.

That's what I heard from my friends who have it on theirs too. Also I was just reminded that I need to get winrar or something like it(not winzip) due to some of my files are in .rar format v.v;

I use winrar. Well, been using it for years really.

well there's another program called 7-zip that is a bit better for unpacking, as in it can open up other extensions other than .zip and .rar. However I might just stick to winrar due to those are the only two I usually come across for what I do.

Yeah I pretty never get anything other than .zip or .rar either. All depends on where you get things from though.

well aside for brushes, certain groupings of images and the occasional need to compress a school project. I don't use it enough to need win-7.

It's okay, sides was trying to find another thread to work on my pile of spanners and gears. Not exactly sure if I'll really go to bed or not..lol. Doing stuff for event is at least being well mixed with my data moving.

I just finished using up the last of my gears.
