Make more threads for people to post in and things will go a bit better. [:)] It's easy to get stuck in a downward spiral of inactivity when people who would like to be active can't find any threads to be active in.

xuvrette 03-19-2013 10:15 PM

I don't think that is the solution...
There are already a few threads in Nation that are rather active...

Cherry Who? 03-19-2013 10:25 PM

I don't mean in Nations, I mean out in the discussion forums. People tend to stay in their groups in Nations, so sure the threads are active, but that's just the same group of people in each thread. If you're not a part of that thread, it's difficult to get into. Posting more in General Discussion, for example, would be good as anyone can join in on that.

xuvrette 03-19-2013 10:30 PM

... I don't go in General Discussion. XD
Those are like one shot discussion. and the end.

Flink 03-19-2013 10:45 PM

Not really, you can have an in depth discussion there. You just need to find the right topic.

Also, yes, Flink was using tape fetish as a joke. Though, she's sure someone somewhere does have said fetish.

And the Hissy Fit is still up for grabs! Remember, once that goes, Flink will be giving away something else!

Cherry: Flink lurves you.

Cherry Who? 03-19-2013 10:46 PM

Xuv - The point is to go there and get into discussion so it's not like that. [:P]

Flink - [hug] How are you doing?

Seridano 03-19-2013 10:50 PM

I pop into the GD from time to time, but there's never much of interest in there.
/shrugs

I do agree in regard to Nations. Threads move, but I haven't the faintest idea how to get invovled in some of them. They're all so tight knit. >.<

OHLAWD, DON'T EAT MEH
The 15-sided dice lands on 7

Flink 03-19-2013 10:55 PM

Cherry: Flink's been better. She's still kind of sad about the break up. He admitted that he was unhappy for awhile, but thought if he ignored Flink she'd eventually dump him since he didn't want to hurt her feelings.

Now Flink's mom is doing her usual "It's your fault. Beg him to take you back. No one else will ever want you." Which just reminds Flink he didn't want her, so how could anyone else?

Also, Penny is 2 for 0 on eating phone chargers. They must be delicious...

Seridano: Flink just jumps right in. Usually by rolling around. Haha.

Flink killed her own thread. That takes talent.

Cherry Who? 03-20-2013 03:30 AM

Wow, that's really awful of your mother to say, don't listen to her. :/ Some relationships don't work out, that doesn't mean that you're unlovable or have to settle for anything less than what you want. It just means that guy wasn't right for you. And he was purposefully ignoring you because he didn't have the balls to end things himself? Jerk. You can and will find someone better than him.

Flink 03-20-2013 05:05 AM

Flink thinks she should probably work on her issues first. It'll probably take awhile to erase years of her family convincing her she's not good enough. She still lives with the fear that she'll be fired, for no reason, since she was told daily she'd never hold down a job.

She worked at WalMart for close to three years. So that has to mean something, especiallly since WalMart was fire happy.

The list of things that Flink's family has convinced her of is really long, unfortunately.

Cherry Who? 03-20-2013 06:17 AM

I'm so sorry your family has been so unsupportive and poisoned you against yourself that way. [:(] If you can afford it, therapy might be something to consider. Cognitive therapy is focused on changing negative thought patterns, so that can go a long way to helping you to stop negative self-talk and replace it with more positive things that can help you feel better about yourself in the long run. [yes] I do agree that working on those issues will make maintaining a relationship easier since then you would find it easier to stand up for yourself if someone is treating you like poo. But of course that doesn't mean that you're unlovable now! [hug]

And yes, your time at walmart definitely means something! I remember your horror stories of how horrible your boss was to you. But he couldn't fire you because you did your job well.

flinkie i have the same kind of mother
maybe they are twins?
i can say this with all the love in my heart
ignore the selfish woman!
it still gets to me, too,
but i know i am a good person
people truly love me for me.
she is just jealous, i think.
i'm not her cute little girlie girl
my father has 'disowned' me because i didn't call home enough to make my mother happy
who would, she just puts me down and tells me i'm a failure because i 'give' too much
i am called a 'doormat'
well i say, more power to me
i keep the world's feetsie's clean!

you are truly a wonderful person, flinkie
let no one tell you other wise!
if you need a shoulder or someone to vent to please pm me

Flink 03-20-2013 06:43 AM

Cherry: Tried therapy. All of the ones here are religious. Flink walked out on the last one when she told Flink to pray to "get better." She hasn't tried againsince. Which is fine, the appointment was free as her work pays for three free sessions a year. But being told all she needs to feel happy is religion just annoyed her.

The sad thing is, Flink's mom -can- be nice. She's also the person Flink gets along with the best. Flink knows the whole "settle" thing is because her mom did it, now she thinks Flink should. She also seems to think Flink should have kids by now. -gag-

Hummy: Thanks, hon. Flink appreciates it.

On to happier topics! Flink's friend gave her rainbow Nerds. They are delicious. :3

Cherry Who? 03-20-2013 06:45 AM

Oh yikes, yeah, religious therapy is no good for someone who isn't religious. Hopefully you can find some secular therapists in your area! I'm sure they're out there, but I have no clue how to go about finding them.

Ooh, rainbow nerds? I don't think I've ever had any Nerds aside from the classic pink and purple packs. Those are delicious, though. [drool] Or at least they were when I was a kid. I don't have as much of a tolerance for super sugary things now, so they might taste gross to me now, who knows.

hummy 03-20-2013 06:51 AM

to the google mobile!
google finds everything

rainbow nerds make me smile

Flink 03-20-2013 07:01 AM

Nerds in general are delicious.

hummy 03-20-2013 07:06 AM

xuvrette 03-20-2013 07:24 AM

Rainbow... rainbow nerds? O_O

Flink 03-20-2013 07:25 AM

Flink bought a set of the two on the last page, that's it. She doesn't post enough to afford the whole shebang. Haha.

xuvrette 03-20-2013 07:32 AM

I am not getting the dress... feel the clover pitiful. DX

Flink 03-20-2013 07:37 AM

Flink hasn't even tried the dress. Heh...

hummy 03-20-2013 07:38 AM

xuvrette 03-20-2013 07:39 AM
