no.... -.- why would there be?

xuvrette 03-19-2013 08:47 PM

Because, if there is nothing to show, how to proof that you read it?
In teacher's perspective.

Kat Dakuu 03-19-2013 08:55 PM

that's freshman logic. you don't teach class to college seniors like that. we talk about in in class and we have a final paper. we read a book every week. the teacher isn't going to make a stinkin' quiz for every single one plus the other stuff we read besides the books.

Hello everyone I saw free art and had to stop in and see I am a big art fan!

Kat Dakuu 03-19-2013 09:07 PM

yes...you already said that.

xuvrette 03-19-2013 09:14 PM

Is it? hmm...
really very different cultures.
Ours only suggest reading materials, encourage us to read, but no test whatsoever on it.

Kat Dakuu 03-19-2013 09:16 PM

most classes here we discuss the reading in class. but this is the only literature class I've taken since high school.

xuvrette 03-19-2013 09:21 PM

I see... Oh. It is literature class. XD I don't know why but I keep thinking you are in art class. DX

Kat Dakuu 03-19-2013 09:22 PM

I'm an art major, but that doesn't mean I only take art classes.

chellybean1985 03-19-2013 09:24 PM

Oh I am sorry I lost track of the thread I was posting im sorry.

Kat Dakuu 03-19-2013 09:25 PM

it's fine. are you posting in many threads?

xuvrette 03-19-2013 09:31 PM

Is that Literature class... elective?

chellybean1985 03-19-2013 09:33 PM

Yes in fact I have posted in around 10 so far I think. Its easy to lose track because some are named so close to each other.

Kat Dakuu 03-19-2013 09:38 PM

it's required for my minor. it's a creative writing requirement.

I see. I'm just sticking my regular threads and mine and my besties thread in this forum.

Jeannesha 03-19-2013 09:39 PM

In my second college literature class (which I believe had students from all years) we had quizzes every time reading was due. Afterwards, we'd discuss it. We also had to write blogs about some of the books we read. I don't see why you wouldn't teach class to seniors in that way. It's not like it's a stupid thing to do. XD I think it's nice that my teacher made quizzes for us~

Kat Dakuu 03-19-2013 09:46 PM

well, quizes aren't the best way to test if something has learned the material. nor is it exciting for students. We spend two classes reading a book. At the half way point, we start discussing and talk about our impressions, then we go further into detail the next class. then we start reading the next book over the weekend. Having a quiz for about ten books for just one class? I don't think the teacher would want to do that either.

Ivvy 03-19-2013 09:47 PM

Hi everyone.

Kat Dakuu 03-19-2013 09:48 PM

hey Ivvy. what's up?

Ivvy 03-19-2013 09:50 PM

not a lot hoping my thread will hit 1k posts and waiting on my new tablet to charge so I can try it out and get it set up. :) Ohh and fell in love with your chibi example...lol Its awesome.

Kat Dakuu 03-19-2013 09:53 PM

I wouldn't even try for 1k posts. only nutsy people get that and I wouldn't want the sort of thread that can hit that many posts in three days.
thanks. I don't really draw chibis much, but everyone always loves them more than even my most professional art.

chellybean1985 03-19-2013 09:55 PM

That is because it is so uber cute!

Ivvy 03-19-2013 09:55 PM

oh dont get me wrong your anime one is amazing as well I just like the outfit on the chibi..lol And 1k posts is something I have never done in so little time so I know how that is.. lol but I have been chatty lately.

I think that depends on what kind of quiz. X3 We always had short answer questions. They were always very insightful and asking for your own opinion on things. I loved discussing the questions afterwords too.
