Same. I haven't really been keeping up with teaching myself, but I'm still at a 'conversational' level, I'd guee. ^^; I'm trying to decide soon if I want to start learning Mandarin or Korean so when I get my TESOL certification in a few years, I'll know the language of the country I apply to teach English in. :P I'm leaning more towards Korean.

Well, I'm only turning 21 in a month, so I'd like to be a bit older when I go. Maybe in the next six years or so? :3 I hope it'll be fun. Everyone tries to warn me about going to South Korea, but I'm a huge fan of the line, "never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game". I've never been a huge fan of restricting myself. :P

@onsenmark ~ She says, our English teaching staff member, that you have to go into this thing with the right mindset. If you run off to Japan with an idealized notion of what the country is, an eastern wonderland all anime and cherry blossoms, she says you're gonna burn out quick. You have to be patient and have a love of teaching. |
