Heck I was happy today when a customer gave me 3 tomatoes, they aren't completely ripe yet, but I know they will taste better than the ones from the store.
I've been picking blueberries every evening after work. I gave Mom & Dad part of a bucket so they could have some fresh blueberries. Those have been such a good investment. We never have to buy any now. Miscreant is planning on making muffins tomorrow with some of them. I can almost taste them already. Now that is a nice thought to go to sleep with. Fresh baked blueberry muffins. [zzz] |
Even nicer, it is made by hubby! <33 so sweet.

We had waffles with fresh blueberries mixed in for breakfast this morning. Dang tasty. My parent's new place has several different fruit bearing trees in the backyard, mom can't wait until canning season and she wants to make preserves from the plum tree.

We have had so much rain they are rotting before they get ripe. |
Damia, my parents live in what is considered the high desert and while the valley is lush and green, over watering is not an issue they face.
Mom is really looking forward to apple season, which is in late October and into November. |

Too much of a good thing can definitely cause problems. Excess water usually causes splitting in the fruit, which ruins it.

Most certainly, there are so many factors they cannot control. It's amazing that more people don't starve from a lack of nutrition due to ruined crops.
Might be time for bed pretty shortly. We have lots of things to do tomorrow. |
